Lest you think everything is all sunshine and light in Montana, here is a picture taken from my front porch last November... BEFORE Thanksgiving :cold:

Use the "straightening" tool - in PE it's on the left side, under the star and above the eye! You can also use P to short-cut to the tool. Simply draw a line from one side of the photo to the other - in this case, you'd start higher on the right hand side, and drag it across and down to the bottom left hand corner. I think there's some ruler you can use to make sure your horizon is perfectly level, but I can't recall off hand where it is. I usually "eye-ball" it - repeating the process if need I didn't take enough off the first time.

Also, on the toolbar, there's a "canvas options" dropbox - select "crop to remove background", otherwise you'll have a white space at the top right hand corner of your photo.

Thanks Lizzie. Im wondering if this method will work because I want to keep the cross the way it is and only correct the horizon. Will it work for this?

Great thread! I enjoyed looking at all these photos.

The sun was way too bright, so I'll try some more on a cloudy day.

Thank you everyone for all of your wonderful pictures! I'm only on the 5th page, and I'm so motivated to get out and take some pictures of our red clay in the freshly plowed fields, only it's supposed to rain the next few days. I hope my pictures I get are going to be worthy of this thread and they do our little Island justice!

I don't believe there's anyway to change the horizon and not affect the cross. I could be wrong - someone please correct me if I am.

Here's a very quick (like, 2 seconds!) attempt at straightening it out...

You could cut the cross out and then work on the horizon with the ship. It will take some cloning to fill it in.

I don't live there, but this is a pic from one of our favorite vacation spots - Orange Beach, Alabama...
