Those look great, really nice pictures. :thumbsup2

Thanks for sharing. My DS11 will enjoy seeing them.

(I take it those are some sunken ships that you can still see part of in the water? That must be very moving.)

It was. What you could see sticking out of the water was the gun turrent 2 and 3 from the Arizona. Going to the Memorial was one of the things that I promised myself I would do if I ever got the chance.

I enjoyed the pictures - thanks for sharing! I think I saw that you had a picture of the submarine the USS Bowfin in one picture. Did you happen to tour that? I am just amazed at the men who would serve on those ships. They were cramped and everything smelled like diesel (I think it still did). Then to know that you were under the water - yikes! :scared1: Not for me! When I toured it a few years ago there was a gentleman working at the museum who had actually served on that ship. I only got a couple of minutes to chat with him but it was something!

Very nice pictures! I hope one day that i am able to visit there... my sister in law won a trip to Pearl Harbor from Walmart the year the movie came out, but this is some place that i really want to visit! Thanks for sharing!

All,

I've updated the Pearl Harbor photos with some that I took yesterday. These are a few showing the sun coming up behind Waikiki and Diamond Head.

These guys were asking directions to Madagascar but I told them that they had made a wrong turn at Alburqueque.

Nice shots 10ded, I love the one with the couple in it. Glad you gave them your info so they can get a copy of it. I guess if you are FORCED to go to Hawaii, you might as well take some pics. Good Job bro!:thumbsup2

Great pics...one of the more surreal places I have ever been in my life. If you ever get a chance, do not skip visiting the memorial.

I did, that was one of the first places I went. It was a very humbling experience. I have a couple shots from there under the Photobucket link on the first post.

I love your pictures! DBF and I are planing a trip to Hawaii... Is that the Hilton Hawaiian Village I see in some of those pictures???

We're looking into staying there in the spring of 2010 (and possibily planning a wedding ceremony at the Hilton Gazebo if things work out as we plan)

Update: After looking at more pictures I see that it is the Hilton!! What a small world! It looks like you stayed there (not to high jack your thread or anything) .. but did you like it? I love the shots of the Hilton.. it helps us alot to get the feel of it.. awesome :goodvibes

The Place is very beautiful and you have easy access to the beach if thats what your into. I will say one thing, bring lots of money. Its 24$ a day for parking, 29$ for valet, and 17$ for internet. Average Lunch on property is 15-20$ per person. Breakfast buffett is 25$. I would plan on at least 100$ a day for food per person, just as a guess. Thats if you stay on property. If you walk around the town some, PF Changs is within walking distance, there is a gelato store close by and the Ala Moana Mall is about 3/4's of a mile as well.

I was just going to say that you must have been staying at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. I was just there last week and the week before!!! I recognize those little penguins, and all the other shots!! Great shots!

Doesn't Pearl Harbor tug at your heart-strings? The oil is still bubbling up after all these years.

The weather was just starting to get pretty cloudy when we left on Saturday....Hope it's improved for you later this week.

I'm just sorting through all my shots. I've uploaded only half of them.

Hope the rest of your trip goes well.

Boy its a small world;) . You left the day before I checked in here. The place is great if you like lots of people. I'm not a crowd kind of guy, so I think the next time I have to come here for business I will stay on the other side of the island, maybe off of H3 (Kaneoe or something like that).

I hadn't gotten a chance to get back here since I originally posted (the DIS just has so much going on!).. but I appreciate the reply (and posting the pics!)...

Thanks a bunch! :thumbsup2

Wow! Great pictures. I was there years ago and it was very moving.
