Are there professional photos taken of the finishers at the end of the race at the princess half? A friend wants to get a picture of herself at the finish line.

I was also considering bringing my small camera to bring in my waist belt during the race. Do many people bring cameras during the race? I'm still trying to decide if I'm going to wear my belt. If I do, I have to decide if I would bring my camera.

Thanks.

Yes there are prof. taking photos at finish and other locations on course.

I always carry a camera, plenty of photo ops on course and most have a cast member to help :thumbsup2

Yup. There are photographers along the course taking photos, as well as at the finish line as well as after. I have pictures of me coming toward the finish, crossing the finish (taken from above), and then with my medal after the finish in front of a background, kind of like they do at red carpet events. I decided the best deal for me was to buy the entire group of my pictures as a download, that way I got them immediately and I had them on my computer to use for whatever. It was cheaper "per picture" to do it that way then to order the prints (not to say that it was cheap - the download cost me $75, but it was well worth it).

I brought my small digital camera and carried it in my hand almost the entire race. I wore my SPIbelt (oh, I love it) and thought that I would keep my camera either in there, but I held it most of the time, and slipped it into the pocket of my Skirt Sports running skirt if I needed my hands to be free (upcoming water stops, etc). I thought that carrying my camera would feel like a burden, but most of the time I kept forgetting it was even in my hand.

Unless you're close to being swept, or conversely, are running to make a PR, I would try to enjoy the fact that you're running in Disney and bring the camera along. Take a few seconds here and there to stop to take pictures with characters who are along the way. If your camera has a video option, take a few, even while you are running. Because after the race was over, I was so glad I had pictures and videos of my experience. Even though I ran alone (a few of our group on the trip were running the race, but at different paces, so technically I did run alone), there were other lone runners who would offer to take a picture if I could take a picture of them, either in front of a mile marker or whatnot. Volunteers also offer to take pictures, like the one of me in front of the Magic Kingdom arch.

See my pictures here.

I hope that helped!

Yes there are professional photographers at the finish. The only problem I found is how I look at the end. I know there's a great accomplishment in finishing, but I have to say... not the most attractive moment :goodvibes.

I will have my camera on the race course. I brought it with me on the Disneyland Half Marathon and took pictures of all the characters, some of the course entertainment, and every mile marker. I was then able to show my parents and friends the course from my point of view which was a lot of fun. Plus, my coach has asked me to bring back pictures of the race and all of the costumes people are wearing.

I also already run with things in my hands (house keys, phone, headphone cord, etc) so carrying my camera isn't an issue. I also have a belt I keep mine in on occaison, but you never know when that perfect race picture might come up. Plus, with the characters out and the lines short (Or shorter than usual) it's the best time to get character pictures!

I always bring a small camera with me to the Disney races. Each of the characters have handlers who will gladly take your picture with your camera so lots of photo ops and much less expensive than the photos you get from the "official" photographers

I would recommend taking your camera out for a test run before the race. I thought I would carry mine in my spibelt and just take it our when I needed it but I found during the test run that it was easier to just hold it in my hand. Also practice taking picture, will you need to stop to get a picture or are you ok with running and snapping at the same time.

I, too, carry it while I am running. I have the cord cinched around my wrist. I alternate every few miles so one hand doesn't get jealous of the other.
I concur that taking it out on a practice run and shooting a couple shots. I've run into a few families of deer and some other fauna that have made cute pics.

I carried my small digital camera during the entire WDW HM. It was much easier to just hold it than to get it in and out of my spibelt.

Great. Thanks for the replies. I think I will bring it with me. Hate being at WDW without my camera at any time, so this will be no different. Now I just hope my friends I'm running with won't mind my slowing down for occasional pics.

I'll also let my friend know about the photographers.

And thanks for those pics leeshiebean. They definitely helped get me excited for the race.
