Alrighty ya'll...I am looking for 2 pieces of advice here...
1. I'm sick of taking the same ole pics every trip to the World. Any new and creative ideas? I really don't need another picture of my daughter in front of the castle if you know what i mean. ;)
2. We are only going just the two of us this time. Myself, and DD7. What do I do about getting pics of us together? Is it OK to ask a passerby? :confused3

Thanks so much for any help! ...29 days and counting!!

oh ya most ppl are happy too take pics of others and all the CM will take yalls pics as well at lessed they did for use don't forget too get your photopass have a great trip :cheer2:

Definitely ask other people to help you take pictures! I think people would be more than happy to do it. Let's say you are in line to meet characters, you could even ask a castmember to take the picture (I've seen this done many times). Don't be shy!

As for different pictures.... do you take pictures near your favorite rides? Take pictures of the signs to your fave rides. How about places throughout the world where you like to eat or relax? Take pictures of these things! I also like to take pictures in each of the lands near different landmarks each time we go (for instance, the sign that says Adventureland). Try to take pictures of things inside the parks that you normally don't take pictures of. Last time I was there (this past March), I took a bunch of pictures in and around each of the countries in Epcot and got some really unique pictures. Check out the gardens in Canada near the LeCellier entrance. :smickey:

I don't really have much advise except always get down on a childs level when you take their picture. I love close ups also. I'd try to get a few attractions and landmarks in as well so when you can compare the "World" today with what it looks like when your DD takes her kids you can see how much change has taken place.

Check out this link on the photography board... http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1144547for many unique ideas. (Edited to fix the link that as for some reason not working!)

There was also another poster on that board who set up a "scavenger hunt" for her pics on her Disney trip. She choose 2 topics for each day of her trip, and each morning she would pick "two out of the hat" so to speak

Things like
Signs (one of my favorites- parking lot signs, ride signs, building signs, billboards (I am local and drive so I take pics of the Disney billboards on the way) bathroom signs (the ones on the outside of the doors) you would be surprised how many different ones there are.

Architecture - instead of taking the whole castle pick a feature and take a close up. Worldshow case is a great place for this.

Look up and down - not just straight ahead. Look at things from different angles - even from the ground!!

Pics of CMs - other than characters - different costumes in Worldshow case, CMs at the rides.

Transportation- Trams from the parking lots, monorails, Disney buses (there are some with ride advertisements on them now), Magical Express busses, Disney Cruise Line buses, monorails, ferry boats, and the different types of Main Street USA transportation that can be found.

Pics of a favorite meal or drink....

Trash cans & Lighting fixtures - again there are so many different themes

Store displays

Hats - on folks or silly hats in the stores. Instead of you DD in front of the castle - take her pic with a funny hat on her head!

Flowers -

"Wildlife" - the bunnies, squirrels, ducks, birds, etc.

Have fun and think outside the box!!! If you are using digital - experiment - you can always delete it if it doesn't "work"!

I live locally to WDW and spend lots of time at the parks, and I still come home with new and different shots each visit....

2) Definitely ask passerbys or CMs to take your pics. I am forever offering to take family photos when I see Dad lining everyone up to take a pic without himself!

Thank you soooo much. Those are all excellent ideas! I'll check out the website right now! :wave2:

Definitely get the "everyday" shots of your family enjoying their vacation... eating at restaraunts... goofing off in lines... chasing the ducks at the lakes...

Those are always the best... especially when you have DISNEY as your backdrop!

I agree fully with all of the above suggestions; however, I say, don't rule out the 'dull, old, boring' classic pictures. It'll be fun to go back years from now to see how the traditional places have changed and to look in the background of your pictures to observe the ever changing scenes. I always like to mix in the ones that you always take with the new and exciting ones.

Check out this link on the photography board... "Pics the Average Tourist Might not Take" - there are many unique ideas./QUOTE]

Is it just me or does that link not work? I was so excited to go check it out and I can't get the page to format and I even went thru properties, then cut and pasted. Bummer! It sounds like a great place for ideas.

I loved the ideas posted by this DisMember, too! Thanks for asking this question because I'm learning stuff that I didn't even realize I wanted to learn. :cool1:

Let's try again - http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1144547

This is the correct link...if it does not work, the post usually remains on page 1 of the photography board - Show Me: photos an avg tourist may not take - Started by CarolC - The photog board can be found just under the Community Board if you are not familiar with it's location.
