Daveinfallschurch: I wondered that myself... really dates the picture though, doesn't it!

Debs5angels: Not sure where exactly this was taken.. I was trying to figure that out myself! My father in law took this in 1982... I was also wondering what the 'crystal' thing is on the left of the picture.. a marker or info stand???

klmall: will do.. not offended.. I really only frequent this thread on a daily basis.. Once in a great while I will check out another thread if I have a question and dis'ers are very good at answering (thank you very much, guys!! )

While I enjoy seeing these pictures from older WDW days since I started visiting WDW in 1979 myself, could we please post them in the very popular Old Disney Park photos thread here rather than this thread which seems to be for more current photos.

That way people are less likely to be confused and wondering why something looks different than current maps and pictures as they plan a trip.

I really don't want to offend anyone, just try to keep things a bit organized.

I think it's nice to see them and I am loathe to wander to other threads after my last couple adventures. It gives contrast to what is seen these days and may inspire others post more modern pics or to ask what is going on.

My first visit to Epcot wasn't until 2001 - so have to ask what the giant satellite dishes were there for

Where in Epcot was this taken? Great picture.

Ok, Judd correct me if I am wrong, This is the old Horizons section. This is taken from bay the waterpool between Commicore One and Two (Modern Innovations). This overlooks what will be Test Track these days. The dishes are most likely to send radio signals or satellite signals. Those were the old days after all.

BTW....Beware... Disney's gona organize us enough with thier brainstorm new idea....when we start making "Ride Reservations" 180 days out from our vacation (?)....

Love it! Did you have to stay late to get this shot and avoid any people walking into it? If I was smart enough, I could figure the hour of the evening out by looking at the position of the moon
