Picture of the Day April 15, 2011

I just want to thank everyone who posts messages here.

I have been visiting WDW on and off every couple of years since 1977, first as day trips when staying with family in Daytona, then staying on-site in hotels (Wilderness Lodge - Grand Floridian - Boardwalk Inn - Yaught Club), then as a DVC member (Boardwalk Villas).

I have many many fond memories.

Then just over a year ago, my wife had a stroke and is now recovering at home. She can no longer travel, even as far as the shops just down the road. We will never visit WDW again and we are near closing on the sale of our DVC.

I enjoy looking at my own photos taken over many years, but also recent photos posted in this thread (especially those that have not been post-processed to extinction and still look like the WDW I remember)

Please keep up the good work. Your photos are much appreciated.

Andrew

Andrew,
I am so happy that you are able to get some joy out of these boards. I post very few, but just seeing the other photos that come out of the talented people here truly warms my heart.

I honestly don't have words that could comfort you in any way regarding your situation, but I hope that one day your wife improves. Just know that I will continue to post pictures here and I truly hope that you enjoy them.

God Bless,
Sheresa

Loved these guys!

Andrew,

I am glad that you and your wife have so many happy memories, and that you are there for her now. And if our pictures can add a touch to that, that is a good thing.

A while back, I stopped and chatted with a couple in China, as I am prone to do, and it was mostly me and the wife- both of us on scooters. She gave me a pin and I insisted on a picture of the three of us. A few months later, I got a message from the husband and he apologized for getting back to me with such a delay. He asked for a copy of that picture- it was the last one of his wife before she died.

In the end, it's all about the moments together.

Best wishes to you and your wife.

Finally08- I LOVE Flynn Rider!! LOL! And that pic infront of the chinese laundry...she is just too precious!

Andrew- I am so sorry to hear about what your family is going thru...but it warms my heart that you can still find joy in the smaller things, even if its just a picture. There's a lot to be said for a picture. Just makes me never want to take anything for granted. God Bless :)

Haven't posted on the POTD threads in a while, but have been lurking lately as we prep for our next trip in July.

Here one that's not spectacular in the sense that many on this thread are, but it's cool to me. It's a picture of our daughter (who graduates high school today), my lovely wife and our son (who is now in the Air Force, at Tech School). He'll be headed to Korea later this year, so pictures with the kids together are more special these days.

I just wanted to say that any pic from WDW is great but specifically the pics from Animal Kingdom are out of this world. It's almost hard to believe that a place so authentic is in the middle of Florida. :thumbsup2

AK is definitely a favorite of mine. The theming is fantastic and offers so many unique photo opportunities.

Thanks Sparrow Lover! But you have me stumped! ???

Oh- hang on! is that in the real costuming shop??? Out back lot at The Studios???

:)

Not in DHS.. the picture that PryncessChrysty posted gives a better view of it.. what do you think?!?

Andrew, I'm so sorry about your situation right now and hope that your wife's recovery from her stroke will bring her back to a point where you may be able to travel again

Why not join us and post a few of your own pictures? :thumbsup2

We would all love to see them :goodvibes

I understand your statement about the post-processed to extinction pictures, I much prefer to see WDW as it is, not as it isn't :)

Enjoy the thread....and join us when you can ;)

(BTW....curious where you are in UK? I'm an ex-pat Brit living in Canada, but grew up in Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire)
