Can a picture really be worth a thousand words? YES! Last week was full of excitement; this week was raw emotion after the win putting the Brahmas in the STATE FINALS next week in Cowboys Stadium in Arlington for the first time since 1977!

Here is one of the picture gifts I ordered for our friends in Baltimore that we have known for many years! It's from mpix and wasn't expensive at all! (Not a great image on this screen; looks better in person!) John is on the far right and the young man next to him is their son.

Might be an idea for you Karolyn to have made in the future! It's a sturdy photo cutout that can either be hung on a wall or sit in the provided stand.

Why all this emotion and excitement?

The past 3 years have had some heartbreaking results in the playoffs and FINALLY....this was the play that put the Brahmas in the State Championship game! (a little crowded in the end zone area but I managed to sneak my camera in position. )...a defensive stop on the 1 yard line!

That's why Katie was "hiding" ! I told the girls before the attempt it would be "okay"...I had one of my "warm fuzzy feelings" the night before that the team was going to be successful! Those last 2 minutes are such a blur I don't remember much of anything other than the excitement of the moment. Pretty special experience for this old lady watching all those kids celebrate...Dora's, football team, COACHES (they were priceless!), band, cheerleaders and community leaders. Before we got back home from the road trip, our Mayor announced on Facebook that City Hall would be closed Friday "for the game" (saw him during a Bucee's stop...bathroom break on the way home and gave him a hug...he's a fellow church member and one of my "kids from our band days") and the School District posted all BISD schools would close Friday for the game. Another "bucket list" item that gets to be scratched off the list for David and I!
