Yikes and you aren't used to that cold either!
We're still in the minus temps at 11 AM but it will go up to zero by late afternoon. And tomorrow will reach a high of 26 degrees.
How about something to celebrate Valentine's Day?

No Kathy...we're not! 100 degree heat is more "our style"!We're struggling; at least we have our fireplace for extra warmth. Utility companies asking for "limited use" or we'll go into "brown outs". Feel especially bad for Allie; no fireplace in the dorm, can't use heaters or electric blankets in dorm rooms and this morning their room was at 62. Not terrible but with outside temp of 14, strong north wind and snow it's only going to get colder. Heating units just can't keep up!
My double insulated tee shirt quilt is sure getting used today!
They checked yesterday for extra clothing, blankets, insulation for window and everything is sold out. Today roads are iced so they're stuck; can't even get anywhere to check if shelves have be restocked. We even checked into getting her and her roommate checked into a hotel but they couldn't get there if they were allowed! Coldest temperatures in a century for our area.
Hard to imagine -11
and you'll actually be warmer tomorrow than we will! But get this...next Sunday our predicted high is 73!

I hadn't realized that you could end up in brownouts and not have the supplies available to for people like Allie to buy! The only time I couldn't get warm I was winter camping and it was only 20 degrees. I just got up and started doing jumping jacks at 4 AM. And your weather is certainly schizo! Makes me believe in climate change for sure!
....I'll say.....this time last year, we were helping my mom empty out her house in Puerto Rico so that she could move back to the states. What a difference a year makes.
It's 3 AM and 13 degrees; my "Operation Safe the Water Pipes" shift is done.Good night...

I hope you are at least warm yourself and getting some sleep today! You are definitely getting some of the worst of this storm. I saw last night on TV that the entire state of Texas is under Emergency Declaration and 4.3 million people are without power. That is definitely scary! Thinking of you and wish I could help![]()
