Our science nerd, athletic DGD continues her phenomenal sophomore year; she received notice today she was one of the 25 out of 180 applicants accepted for the GeoX Conference at Texas A&M University in June. The conference is sponsored by BP, Marathon Oil and the College of Geosciences and includes activities in the geoscience field from launching a weather balloon to seeing the instruments used to explore the deep ocean (a day out in the Gulf of Mexico observing the instruments at work) to searching for fossils in a rural river to exploring the geoscience of Mars to using GPS to guide the way during a scavenger hunt. She's so excited, she hasn't stopped grinning all day!
