If we go we will tent camp which kind of scares me because of the wild life but its a much cheaper way to see this particular national park. Rooms in West Yellowstone are insanely priced.

I camped in a tent when I was there in 2005 (and in a pop-up camper in 1966 as well) and the only problem was the cold August rain! Some of the campgrounds are so huge that you can get lost in them and bears will probably be the least of your worries. From what I've read the trails are generally where the danger really begins. We're staying in Canyon Lodge since DH gave up camping many years ago!
