One of numerous similar statues erected in the late 19th Century. They are located throughout New England, often in town squares, to honor those local soldiers who died in the "Great Rebellion". This one is in Camden, Maine.
@Chernabog1940 I love all your pictures from Maine. I was born and raised there but because of DH's job we live in the middle of the country now way too far away from the ocean.
