Picture habits

Some people take pictures of their food, some take pictures of the bathrooms, others from their family every trip in the same spot in the same position, waiting times...

I'm curious to hear what other 'unusual' picture habits people have here. Next to family pictures, character pictures, is there something you take a picture of during every trip? :)

For me, regardless of how many times I've seen a castle, I have to take a picture of it, every day of my visit.

Some pictures rom Paris:

Very nice shots.

One thing I do which is a bit off the beaten path is that I take a lot of shots without framing a subject. I just randomly drop my camera to get low angles all over the parks and see what turns up later. I have a general idea of what I am trying to capture, but I do not look through the viewfinder. Most are duds, but I get some cool surprises along the way too.

ON another forum I used to be on, a member took pics of all the trash cans and posted them. The theming of each one was fantastic!

I always make sure to take a picture of some or all of our group while waiting in line or on a ride. I hate getting back and having all these great shots if the rides and no people to go with them.

Awesome photos Chris!

I always take one of the castle too, how can you not!?!

My new goal every trip is to get at least one photo with me in it as well. Usually I'm the one taking all the photos. :goodvibes

This right here. My first three trips (at WDW), all I could do is take pictures of attractions and icons and characters. Then I realized that I had only a few pictures of my wife and first kid. After that, it was pictures of attraction with the kids in front of it. All those pictures don't mean a thing unless I know my kids were a part of that moment.

I like detail pictures. We take lots of regular photos, and we're good about making sure we wind up in our photos (a danger when there's only two of you), but I have always loved details. When we travel, these often turn out to be some my favourite shots, and I think looking for details sometimes makes you slow down a little. :goodvibes

I take pictures at the gate the first day of my trip. I get too excited and start taking pictures before the park is even open haha

I take pictures of the bathroom signs. They are all themed different. I've pretty much got all of them now.

One year I made DH stand in front of each trash can in every area.

I also try to look up in the stores and take pictures of that. They have very interesting things high up on the walls.

At WDW, the thing I could not get enough pictures of was the big ball at Epcot. It was just so much bigger than I had imagined and looked so neat from every angle. Just about every time I walked by I had to take another picture.

Love your detail photos!

I don't have a photo that I always get, but I try to: get a picture of my kids waiting in line at the gate, get a picture on a ride or two (often Casey Jr, Small world, or I have a cool pict of DH about to get eaten by Monstro), picts by the waterfall in DCA, and I also love the archway into Carsland. I also like to let my kids get a few steps in front of my and take a picture of them walking (often these are lackluster, but sometimes, they're magical).

At Sea World, I always take a picture of my kids in front of the milk jug by the pets show. It's great to look through all those photos and watch them grow. I wish I had done that by something at Disney. I might with the new one :).

I like to use my 26X zoom on my Sony camera to take close up pics and artistic pics. For the family, i use my zoom to my advantage and take candid shots, versus making them stand there for the picture. My DS11 is photo shy, so I have to remind him that if I didn't take pics, there would be no pics from the kids childhood, since I'm the only photo geek in the family. I always take lots of pics of the HM when at DL, as well as fine detail shots. I also love taking nature shots as well.

Thanks for the inspiration! I'll be there tomorrow. Going to use the time when DH has to go workout to do nothing but shoot photos (and maybe eat a few things that he can't since he's on a pre-contest diet hehehehe).

I'm so excited.

We used to love to get pictures at the Court of Angels.

We also like a photo on the caboose of Casey Jr.

You have kind of inspired me to try this! :)

Each year, we take a picture of our boys (11 and 6 this year) in front of the Walt/Mickey statue posing same as Walt and Mickey in DL circle in front of the castle.
