My Mom received these pictures from a friend in Germany. I'm assuming this is first class--very nice.

Actually, other than the rear facing seats, it looks pretty much like the A340 business class setup on Lufthansa long haul (which unforunately hasn't lasted very long - the FAs are quite good at attempting repairs on the lie flat seats and in flight video with cutlery - on a recent flight they fixed my seat with a knife, but it took two FAs and a fork AND a knife to fix the in flight entertainment ;) )

The A340 LH Business Class setup is 2x2x2 staggered seating like in the first photo, with seats that lie flat to 9 degrees and are 150 cm long.

It wouldn't surprise me if these pictures were taken of an Lufthansa A340, since there are no A380s flying commercially yet. :) There's currently an A380 flying around-the-world as part of a long-haul test. Parent company Airbus hopes to have the long-delayed, super-jumbo certified by the FAA and EASA (Europe) sometime in mid-December. Singapore Airlines is scheduled to receive the first passenger A380 in October 2007. Emirates Air is next in line to get their A380 in 2008.

In an attempt to get back to DIS relevancy  does anyone know if any of airlines that service MCO, flies a wide body jet into MCO--e.g. 767, 777, 747, A330 or A340? My guess is "no" since it's not a major hub, but it would be interesting to find out if one of the airlines do. I love flying the wide bodies. :)

Yes, those look like a version of the LH uniform.

If DL can fly a 757 into Mobile, anything is possible :teeth: . I think that some of the intl carriers do actually fly larger aircraft into MCO - the largest I've flown into MCO is a 757.

Delta has several flights daily into Orlando (also Tampa) from Atlanta on 767's. Back in the day, TWA used to fly widebody Lockheed L1011's and later 767's from St. Louis to Orlando.

DH's company makes the reading lamps you see in the photos! Thanks for sharing the pictures! :thumbsup2

Yea DL does fly a good amount of widebodies into MCO since its a focous city of theres. Also Virgin Atlantic flies a 747 into MCO.

Here's a link for Airbus interiors: http://www.airbus.com/cabin-showroom/preview/index.jsp?article=0

Not only are the interiors impressive, but so is the website.

The only thing is, the finishing is up to what the individual airline orders. Seat pitch, width, comfort can vary greatly. Many airlines won't be buying the package featured on the Airbus site, but will opt for a lower cost/higher load.

I usually fly on a United A319, but when I am on an Air Canada A319 it's a whole different world. The seat pitch in Economy Plus on United is several inches more, plus the seats on AC feel like they are made of cardboard.

If I had to fly to Germany in economy, I'd never to on a Lufthansa A340, but would choose a United widebody instead. (and yes, I realize that I am fortunate that I do a lot of long haul in business class, but unfortunately it does also spoil me and I can no longer imagine 14 hours in Economy)

Basically, while the outside of the plane may be the same (other than the paint job), the inside varies greatly depending on the airline....

Virgin Atlantic and British Airways both fly 747s

From Los Angeles you would need to change flights in LHR or LGW.

It would be great if the A380 was ever released!! It has been pushed back many times because of engineering problems. It still is yet to be seen if the aircraft can actually fly with a 100% load capacity. The largest aircraft Ive flown into MCO was a Delta 767, pretty fun plane to fly on but truthfully, not the smoothist craft in the sky

The most fun ride is for me at least is in the CRJ-200, but that is so darn crunched. Comfort factor still goes to the A340, but overall in my book is the 757...Gotta Love It!

Thanks to everyone who posted about widebodies flying into MCO. It looks like I either have to fly Delta or Virgin Atlantic to have a shot. Most of my trips from LAX have been United and (previously) Song. I do miss Song.

Andrew, LOL!!! :teeth: Maybe I could do a mileage run to LHR and then nest a trip on Virgin Atlantic to MCO. Unfortunately, I'm not a FF on either Virgin Atlantic or BA. So it would be one expensive trip. I like the way you think though. :thumbsup2

A little off topic but I like to fly the widebodies and I catch one once in a while out charlotte into philly (767). Such a short flight for that plane.

Airbus held a lottery for its employees in France back in September. The winners were able to be the 1st people aboard when Airbus was doing a full capacity test in October. I'm guessing thats when these pics were taken.
