I don't know what it's called, but does anyone have pics of the entrance to Epcot from the Boardwalk or vice versa? What is that entrance called?

It's called the International Gateway. Don't have a picture, there are a few ticket windows, then security tables and then probably about 5 or 7 turnstiles.

Those pictures are perfect!!! Thanks so much!!! Wow!

Those are great maps- but I'm a little confused.
If we are in the World Showcase, do we take the Friendship boat to Boardwalk, or can we walk over?
What route/path would we take from which point in World Showcase to get to Boardwalk?
About how long of a walk is it ( that is if you can walk over!)
Thanks!

The friendship boats in the World Showcase do not go to Boardwalk, they just cross the lake. The boats to Boardwalk are outside the International Gateway. You can definitely walk.

Once you exit World Showcase through the International Gateway, you can either catch a boat OR walk over to the Boardwalk. These boats are completely separate from the boats that cross the lake inside Epcot that WS surrounds.

I don't recall how long these boats take to the Boardwalk (I forget if they stop at the Beach/Yacht first?), but if you walk to the left (most direct route) it's usually only about a 5-10 minute walk depending on your pace and specifically WHERE on the Boardwalk you're trying to get to.

The boats will drop you essentially in the middle of the Boardwalk area, right in front of the resort itself.

OK, so where exactly is the International Gateway?
What building in what country is it next to?

You can see it on all of my Maps in Post #3 in this thread.

The IG is located between the pavilions of UK and France.

I've been to WS tons of times, but don't remember seeing any kind of an entrance between England and France!
Which one is it closer to? Is it a public walkway? Is it marked?
I'd really like to try walking over to Boardwalk and checking it out when we go back in Feb!

It's easy.

Walk past UK going toward France, but instead of crossing the bridge, follow
the sidewalk down the hill to the right.

Can you not see the images in my post #3?

Yes, I can see the maps, but don't see where the walkway is that you follow to get to the Gateway.

Now that you describe it , I can understand where to go!! Thanks from a map-impaired visitor!

It's hard to see the walkway because of the trees. In the 3rd pic, if you see the "6" you are right near the walk way. The gate is "3". So, by turning left at "6", you will head thru the gate to the resorts. You can then catch the boat at "1" or walk.

The Friendship boat departing Epcot goes to the Boardwalk first, then Yacht/Beach Club, then Swan/Dolphin, then the Hollywood Studios, then does the same stops in reverse order, so the Boardwalk is always the last stop before heading to Epcot, and the first stop leaving Epcot.

The ride itself is only a few minutes so if you can catch a boat just as you leave Epcot, it's quicker than walking. If you have to wait, however, it would be quicker to walk because it takes less than 10 minutes to walk.

Two questions (a bit OT, sorry):

1. On Robo's maps of BW, if staying in a BWV Boardwalk view room, where would we likely be? I get confused on which areas are Inn and which are Villas.

2. Do you know if you have to fold up strollers on the Friendship or can they roll right on (given room) like the boat from MK to WL?

TIA!
