Picky eater thread? where?

What happened to the thread where the OP was warning anyone with picky eaters about the PSB? It disappeared! I can't imagine it being totally deleted. If there was a post out of line then I can see that being taken out but not the whole thread. Anyone show me where to find it.

Totally agree. But, Maybe there is'nt a way they can just delete one post? If in fact they can, I think that's the best way to handle it.

The moderators intended to close the thread, but in the process the thread was deleted by mistake. It was never our intention to delete the useful information in the thread, but unfortunately that is what we did.

Some of you may have noticed that a lot of new moderators have been added to the boards recently. This is a very exciting time on the DIS, and we have some wonderful additions to the moderating team. We are especially fortunate here on the restaurant board. I may be a bit biased but I think our moderating team is excellent. I am honored to be in the company of such knowlegeable, friendly folks. But, like any time someone is new on the job, there's going to be a learning curve. It takes some time to learn the technicalities of administering the boards. We are all human, and mistakes will be made. That's what happened in this case.

We apologize for the loss of useful information. We pride ourselves on providing as much useful information as we can here on the DIS. Hopefully the information that was lost will resurface on future threads.

When one becomes a mod isn't there some kind of training that is involved so they don't go around deleting posts they shouldn't be? Or are they just appointed mods and on their own?

Yes, there is training. But we are all very human.
