We are veteran Disney vacationers however we do not normally eat within the parks except for the last visit (3 years ago.) We will be going to WDW in a couple of weeks and would like some help with the restaurants we have chosen. My DF is a very picky eater....mostly a meat and potatoes man. I've looked at the menus however I'm still unsure if we have chosen restaurants he would be happy with. We really want to go to San Angel Inn but he really only likes tex-mex. Please help with this and any other suggestions/comments on our chosen restaurants. FYI-this is a vacation with myself (27) and my parents (both in their 50s)

1. San Angel Inn
2. Cinderella's Castle
3. Rainforest Cafe (AK)
4. Sci-Fi Theatre
5. Fulton's Crab House
6. Liberty Tree Tavern
7. Mama Melrose's

All of these are dinner reservations.

vivianmarie, Welcome to the DIS!!

I haven't been to some of the restaurants on your list but I will say that most restaurants at WDW have a "Meat and Potatoes" type of entree somewhere on the menu!

You'll get that at:
Cinderellas Round Table
Rainforest Cafe
Sci-Fi Theater
LTT

My DW is also very picky and I make her try different foods when we're at WDW (MAKES her..LOL, she's the purple belt, I'm the practice dummy). She really enjoys 90% of everything that she has tried, granted she doesn't try the sure-fire misses, ie. tripe or liver or the like. I'm sure your DF will enjoy his meals.

Again, welcome to the DIS!

My best advise is to spend some time over at www.wdwig.com looking at all the menu's posted.
You can then check each menu and make sure there is something DF will eat.
You can even print them off and put them in a folder (I did this) so prior to eating I let DH preview the menu to avoid any surprises when arriving at the restaurant.
Good Luck!

Just a note on RFC...my DF has the same "meat and potatoes" tastes your's has, and he swears by the pot roast at RFC. He doesn't experiment much, but he knows what he likes!

Welcome to the Dis, vivianmarie! I'm just wondering whether your DF would enjoy Le Cellier more in Epcot. Although San Angel has a nice atmosphere, you can enjoy the atmosphere by shopping in the indoor square and enjoying the boat ride. I think the actual food at Le Cellier is much better and will probably be more to his liking.

Thanks for the suggestion CindyAnn, however my DM is dead set on San Angel. She just loves Mexican and, because of DF, rarely gets it. Couple that with the atmosphere and there is no tearing her away. Does anyone know of a "meat and potatoes" kind of dish here that is good? Do they/will they serve tacos or burritos with just the meat and cheese? That's the closest my DF will get to mexican.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! :teeth:

11 more days!!!!!!!

I think your only "snag" is San Angel - you can check the menu (and all the others!) at www.wdwig.com. Perhaps if he sees something he is interested in you can ask to have it tamed down a bit.

I would also suggest prime time at MGM - great home cooking and wonderful atmosphere and service. I would suggest this over Sci Fi - the only thing we really like here are the burgers, YMMV.
