Picky child now considered adult on DDP

Next time we go to Disney my son will be 10 and considered an adult on the dining plan. We are flirting w/ the idea of going at the end of May w/ free dining at a moderate. How strict are table service restaurants about kids ordering off the adult menu instead of kids??? There really isn't much he'd eat off of most of these menus. I know he should not still be this picky but he is and it is his trip too and I don't want him to be miserable. I guess if they really are this strict, I would pay oop for him to eat off the kids menu. If I wasn't "Popped" out, I'd do another stay there and get the free quick service plan which makes sense for us, but I don't think I could do it again. And I really have no desire to stay at any of the all stars.

My son is a VERY picky eater. I too was concerned about what he would eat off of the adult menu. Don't worry as I have to say all of the restuarants were very accomodating. They either modified an adult entree( I never even had to ask but the server would overhear us and would offer) to suit him or gave a beefed up kids meal.

Buffets are always a good choice, too. Lots of choices.

You can do a few different things.

If he will only eat a kid's meal (portion size is not too small) then you can pay out of pocket for it and save the adult TS credit for another meal (If he does this a few times you can book another TS meal). As long as this isn't at a buffet/family style meal.

I've also heard you can ask for an adult sized portion of the kid's meal. Then use the Adult TS credit to pay for it.
