Picky 10 year old

My apologies for asking a question that I am sure has been asked before but I searched and couldn't find my answer.

Can a picky 10 year old order off the childrens menus at table service restaurants?

We are using the dining plan next May. We will be paying for an adult meal plan for him but will probably save his TS credits for signature meals (if we are able to) and just pay out of pocket for his table service meals.

Yes, anyone can order off the children's menu, but he will be charged an "adult" price. Not quite sure how they figure that, I have heard some places just charge double. Buffets won't matter as you pay per person and he can eat anything there.

We were told at CRT & CS that our DS11 would be charged double for ordering off the children's menu in August but when the bill came he was charged the child price. Possibly because we had ordered appetizers & dessert

I just hope we're as lucky next year. My DD will be 10.

Our DS10 is beyond picky! But at every restaurant, they would ask if we needed just one child's menu (DD is 12 and looks 20 - God help me!), and he'd order off the kid's menu, being charged as a kid.

Boma was the only place that asked us how old the kids were, and DS was charged the adult price there.
