Pickle part III

Good Morning, Pickles! come on, let's cheer up!! Cancer is not the worst news anymore. It's serious, yes, but can be treated and cured!

Yesterday a lovely lady brought me Communion in the hospital - as we got to talking I told her what the Drs found - 5 yrs ago she has stage 2b uterine cancer and is doing GREAT! No one was hanging their heads - Nurse Nancy even said she would be calling me today or tomorrow and hoping we'd be doing the "happy dance". It is possible they got it all or could be at a very treatable stage. Let's think positive, my friends!!! :dance3:

Love you all...please, should you have the urge feel free to call...336-289-5900. I know everyone doesn't have a long distance plan....if you'd like to chat pm your number. My feelings will not be hurt if you don't have time, or prefer not have a telephone visit.:grouphug:

Tracy, what time is your Dr app't today? You know you'd better keep me posted or I'll be up there!!

I see you are feeling much better this morning. :) Yay!

I called when the phone lines opened up and apparently the doctor is only in this afternoon (hospital rounds this morning, I guess) and the receptionist told me she was booked up for the day. Well....I lost it. I reminded her that I called last week and they didn't have an opening and was told to call first thing today, which I did. Then she asks me what it was for again and I told her and she said, oh...right, come in at 3:45. *bangs head on table* Why couldn't she squeeze me in last week when I was having a nuclear meltdown? :sad2:

Anyhow, will let you know the outcome. I went to bed feeling a cold coming on. This morning... OMG, headcold from he**. I've got kleenex in each nostril and when I sneeze I feel like someone is knifing me in the chest. I'm a purdy sight, I tell ya! Stay away. Farrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr away!

Yes 3:45 my time. And it's 10:44 my time right now and I am scarfing down french fries. Why, you ask? I've no clue and it makes no sense as I couldn't taste vinegar right now if I wanted to.

NO, I am not pregnant!!!

One ever knows....;)

Yeah!! Christine is up and running again ... :goodvibes

Tracy – sorry you feel like crap today … yeah its OK to have FF in the morning. So far I’ve had ½ peanut butter sandwich, a pumpkin iced donut, piece of chocolate and 2 diet cokes with PLENTY of caffeine. Wonder why I can't lose any weight?? :lmao: (I'm not pregnant either ... :))

Hope everything goes well with the doc appt.

It also raining cats and dogs here …. Oh, please bring on the sunshine!!!

Okay..let's see what I can remember.....my cancer is grade 1c...the lymph nodes are clear, the "wash" they do in the beginning of the surgery was clear. Nancy said the only thing a little worrisome is that the cancer has invaded more than 50% of the uterine wall...but...the surgery did remove everything and the Drs might recommend a " just a little bit" of radiation. Will know more on their recommendation when I see Dr Gehrig (the surgeon) on Tuesday - a 15 min app't to go over everything including their recommendations.

Deep breath and gratitude prayer. :grouphug:

Janet, nice to see I'm not the only piggie around here. :rotfl2: Seriously, ain't nuthin' wrong with that yummy breakfast you just described! :thumbsup2 That pumpkin donut sounds delish.

Christine - that is awesome news...I think. I don't feel right saying it's awesome news to hear. Cancer is never awesome to hear about. So, I will say that I am happy that it's in the lowest stage. Will keep fingers crossed for you as always.

Christine, I responded to your message on FB. I am so happy for the good news, and I know that it will keep getting better.

Tracy, I'm sorry you aren't feeling well. Please feel better soon. And I'm glad you aren't pregnant as long as you are glad you aren't pregnant. :rotfl:

Okay... while DIS surfing on the resorts board, did anyone happen to come across the "mansion or AB section of POR" thread??

I just wanna make sure I wasn't seeing things. People who posted after me didn't say anything. Perhaps I drank too much cough syrup.

Thought I replied to your question about the thread. Geez, where's my brain.:confused3

I did a search, but couldn't find the thread you mentioned. I do know there is a refurb to begin this Fall for FQ, followed by the Mansion side of POR (and no doubt AB will eventually follow, since both resorts are due)- I hate......hate....the new themes. I don't like it when Disney decided to put a movie theme in a resort and is usually doesn't even match the resort theme. Nemo at CBR is a good example....Nemo is from Australia, not the Caribbean...heck, the Little Mermaid would have made more sense!

Call me weird, but I like the room theme to follow the resort theme - when brand new, CBR was gorgeous tropical flowers - each village rooms matched the color of the bldg.
With the first rehab Disney went for the same tropical floral theme in all the rooms - it was very pretty and I can understand the cost savings to keep everything the same in one resort. But Nemo? Have not stayed there since Nemo and will not until it is refurbed again.
Pirate rooms make sense for guests who enjoy that theme and it was a good way for folks to pay for the dreaded Trinidad South rooms. :)

Tracy, have you seen the photos of the possible new rooms? I had a link and can try to find it again.

Bet you're sorry I answered now!!! :rotfl2:

Good morning pickles!!
Hope everyone had a great weekend! I didn't feel well for 1/2 of it (headaches) but Sunday was a nice day.

Re the refurb at POR resorts ... okay, I'm going to go out on a limb and say i thought the proposed rooms looked great!! I got the idea that they might do only some (like the pirate rooms at CBR), which would a good alternative that re-doing the whole resort.

Both the Haunted Manion and Princess and the Frog were set in New orleans, so I kinda of like the idea. Well, it will be interesting to see what Disney does.

That is good news!!!!:grouphug:

Sorry I've been MIA. We lost internet, cable and phone with the flooding on Fri. HTe kids were off school (although ti wasn't THAT bad that they should have had off I didn't think) Let's just say that 2 kids + no school + no internet or cable = TORTURE for Mom

I kinda like the idea of theming the roms to a movie IF the theme fits the resort. AS Movies could be so cool if they took the theming farther. I think the theming is what makes Disney Disney. I can stay in a nice, upscale hotel room anywhere. I can only get great theming at WDW. That being said...I haven't seen the pictures yet, and my kids are scared of Haunted Mansion, so not sure I would be happy if I somehow wound up in a HM themed room.
