Pickle part III

Mia just called to let me know Michael got a call for a job he applied for on line the day before they left on vacation (with AmEx where he worked for 17 yrs) . It is a job he is very well qualified for and his current salary (severance) falls in the middle of the salary for the position - which is great. It would not be a step up to manager, but would be on the Card side of AmEx rather than Travel and he's wanted to make that change for a long time. It is difficult to move from Travel to Card, but Mia said other than knowing the product (credit card, as opposed to Travel) he is exceptionally qualified. He did the job for 8 yrs until his office closed, all the VP's love him on the Travel side, so fingers crossed this one will come through. He has a phone interview with a panel of 4 managers/directors on Monday at 10 a.m. Oh, and it is virtual so we could move after he is settled in the position!!!

He has been receiving full pay severance pkg since July 1st and it runs out May 1st - if he does not get a job by then they could lose everything.

Then we could all go and stay with Christine and her family in case I don't win that elusive lottery. And we could so see Mickey and Eeyore (with Mark wearing his ears) for a LONGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG visit.

I think they are looking at the St. Augustine area. When Mia and I went to Savannah last month she wanted to check out there too. I do know Mia wants to be back near the ocean again (or at least closer) and a place where I can get around at least a little - like somewhere to walk to, even a little Square.

Michael likes it here fine - what's not to like for him - 8 mos of golf, he worked in an office and made golf friends and goes to Myrtle Beach twice a yr for a long weekend to play golf with his Boston friends....it's all good for him.

I hope in the not too distant future I'll have a little place of my own - a nice apt with a balcony over looking the ocean..sigh..a person can dream, can't she? AND it might be a simple place, but friends will always be welcome.

Speaking of the Disney store website - I was on there 2 weeks ago and plush were 2 for 1 - I was all set to get Sophia a Mickey and a Dalmation, but when I went back 2 days later the promotion was over. Bad Nana.
