Picking Up New Annual Pass?

So to be clear (because I'm a slow learner) - I can enter DLR with my 5DPH and do MM. Then after I'm done with MM, I can take my ticket to the turnstiles (?) to upgrade to a SAP and just pay the difference? As I want a Signature pass, I won't have to pay to add MP or PP+ onto the AP, like I'd have to do with a DAP. And Signature means there's no blackout dates, because we're going over Christmas and during the week (23-30), correct? Then use the AP as usual throughout the park for discounts and suchlike.

Just to clarify, you will need the Signature Plus pass not just the Signature if you plan to visit over the Christmas holiday week. And, yes, the Signature Plus pass at this time includes the Maxpass with Photopass. The Signature AP has blackout dates for the Christmas/New Year's period and does not include Maxpass.

I think you need to go to a ticket booth not turnstiles to upgrade.
If you are in DL and the AP Service Booth is open, they maybe able to help you.

I too have a question. My husband purchased the Signature Plus AP for me a few weeks ago and we are planning on going October 14-17th, which will be the first use of the pass. He claims there was no temporary ticket when he purchased it, but it sounds like there may be, based on what I read above. Just to be clear, if we do find this pass in his email, I can print that and use it with my ID at the turnstile and avoid the ticket booths?

If I cannot go to the turnstiles, where will be the quickest place to get my AP so we can enter the park?

Thanks. We will do that. We are there for a week, but won't actually be going into the parks until Monday. I hadn't even thought about being able to use the discount, because we'll probably be eating dinner Saturday and breakfast Sunday in DTD as we're staying onsite.

You may want to upgrade as soon as you get there, as most of the restaurants/ shops in DTD also give AP discounts. It's not just in the parks. Some give the same discounts as in park, and some are less. But, most do give some sort of discount.

Yes, our plan is to upgrade them on Saturday once we've checked into the hotel and ventured out of the hotel. I would hope it would be much smaller lines since it'll b early evening. (we don't arrive at LAX until 4 - guessing that by the time we get the rental car, drive to the GCH and check in, it'll be at least 3 hours).

Yes, the turnstiles. We were told City Hall can do it at DL, but when we stopped by there the line was too long anyways, but we stopped and asked just for information sake and they said they could not.

I did not even know there was an AP Service Booth.

The parkhopper tickets folks buy can be redeemed at the turnstiles. I have never heard that about APs and my first thought is you cannot do that. But I do not know. Someone else will have to confirm or disconfirm this.
