Picking up Enterprise rental minivan on Christmas Eve

Hi all,

I am nervous because I am picking up our rental minivan from Enterprise for our Holiday Disney trip on Christmas Eve at 12:30pm and the hours that day are only until 1pm. Should I call a few days early and make sure that they have it and it will be ready? If I get there at 12:30 on Christmas Eve and there is some problem (no minivans available or something else)- I am going to be totally out of luck trying to get any other rental minivans from somewhere else. I'm so nervous that if I show up that day and time and there is a problem of any sort- that my whole trip will be ruined. It's very tricky and I don't feel good about it at all.

Am I right or wrong to be so worried?
Thanks in advance!

I used to work for Enterprise about 10 years ago. I also just rented from them this week. If you reserved it, I'm sure it will be there. If you are really concerned you can call them the day before to verify that you will be there but I wouldn't worry about it. Enterprise promotes employees based on their ability to sell but also on customer satisfaction. They want you happy. The airport location was very professional and prompt.

I'm not sure where you are getting the published hours for Enterprise at MCO from, but they publish 6 am to 11:59 pm, 7 days a week on the website and from my experience returning a car this morning to MCO side A, they were actually there at 5:15 am when I returned my car (the person checking me in says they have people on from 4:30 am onward).

Enterprise also seems to have adequate stock compared to sister company National. The National area was wiped clean except for SUV's and a few small cars when we arrived on 11/30, but Enterprise had all sizes (Altima's, Jetta's, Camry's, Impala's, and Passat's in the fullsize area to choose from plus plenty of Dodge and Nissan minivans). A bonus was our Passat was brand new with only 3 miles on the odometer when we picked it up.

Thank you both!

it's actually not at MCO though. We are picking our car up at a little suburb of Pittsburgh and driving down for a trip between Christmas and New Years. Flights were just too ridiculous for that time.

thanks again- i feel better and appreciate it.

When I rent from Enterprise neighborhood locations, I always try to book it so I pick up first thing when they open. I call the night before & make sure they have my vehicle on the lot. if it's not there I go elsewhere. Since your later in the day, I would call the morning of & check. If they are counting on a vehicle being returned a few hours before you rent it, then you have reason to be concerned. If it's on the lot the morning you call, then you should be in good shape.

Actually a later reservation gives them more time to find the minivan from another branch. If it is booked I'm really sure you won't have an issue or they will upgrade you to something larger.
