Picking up at Long Beach Airport

We arrive a day early (driving) so I am picking up my nephew and family at the airport.
We are staying at Ramada Maingate at The Park.
What is the best way to get to the airport when they arrive at 8:18am on Monday the 4th of January?
Back roads? Freeway? Also, what time should I leave?

Hmmm. You are going at peak traffic time so I would give yourself an hour, even though it is a relatively short distance away. I think your best option would be to take freeways. The 5, to the 91 to the 605 then (possibly) the 405 would be your best bet. IF you have a smart phone, download the Waze traffic app. It's a Godsend for navigating LA traffic! Long each is a tiny little airport, so you won't have any trouble once you get there.
