Picking Up Annual Passes at Park (Parking before pick up)

We intend to pick up (activate) our new Annual Pass at The Studios gate. Will we be able to use the free parking option (before we actually activate the passes)?

No. You pay to park and give the receipt to the CM when you pick up your APs and they put that amount on a Disney GC for you.

YMMV, but if you have a printed copy of your confirmation of the AP purchase (email) and an ID, some Castmembers may let you park. If not, just get reimbursed at the guest services window when you activate the AP.

We were able to park without having to pay first by showing the CM that we had purchased APs - showed APs in the My Disney App and we also had the email confirmations. This was in Animal Kindgom.

You could also drive to Disney Springs first and activate there at the guest relations building right in the middle of DS. This brings the additional benefit of having almost no wait time until a CM has time for you. We literally went in and to the CM when we did it back in October 2017.

If you show proof of your AP voucher, you will be able to park for free at HS.

Did the same thing a couple of weeks ago - DHS was our first park as well. I ended up getting them from Disney Springs the night before. It took only a few minutes, and otherwise I was told I'd have to pay for the parking upfront, and then go to guest relations with my AP and parking receipt to get re-imbursed.

I did this and there was a wait, but they asked for my phone number and texted me when it was time to come back. So I walked around Disney Springs for a while instead of having to wait in a line.
