Picking Fastpasses has never felt so good

I have a reservation June 1-9 at BLT. If I go on to book a dining reservation, nothing in May, up thru May 31 is available. Click on June 1, and all the restaurants are available to pick a time. I think Disney is fully expecting to open June 1st. They are going to watch as Florida slowly opens up starting tomorrow. The Governor has said he is going to allow Disney, Busch and Universal open when they want. In other words, they will not have to abide by the CDC guidelines. They could open tomorrow if they wanted to. They are going to give it the month of May to see how it goes.

As an immunocompromised essential worker, I see reopening less as a light at the end of the tunnel and more of as a train.

My honest advice to you is to reschedule for six months to a year from now. Take some time and let yourself get excited about a Disney trip again. It’s difficult to put off something that great for that long but JUST THINK of how good your fastpass days will feel then. Give yourself time and don’t even think about the money at that point. Disney trips should always be something you’re looking forward to, otherwise there really is no point.

We are limited to summer months since we’re a family of teachers. If we don’t do it now, it will be next summer. On the bright side, we’re not scheduled until the very end of June. If they open June 1, we’ll have time to see how things are, how well it’s working. It’s a long trip, so we got everything we wanted, just burned from the March cancellation and trying to temper our enthusiasm, just in case. While it’s not been the fun it usually is ( we’re weird, we love the planning), if it works out we’ll be thrilled to be there. I think I’m just tired of not knowing, just like most everyone else! Hopefully we’ll get some news this week!

Rescheduled an April 1st vacation for June 10th, and I have to admit it feels amazing to be back in MDE making fastpasses - regardless of availability just the idea I can be on MDE making plans, with Florida going full speed at reopening, feels like light at the end of the tunnel. Does anyone else have that feeling? Just being on the app making plans does a lot for the mental state... am I crazy here or is there anyone else who has that mentality?

OP hold on to the naysayers quotes for the victory feeling you’ll get when you’re enjoying your trip safely and well cared for by Disney. I am a Covid screener and feel the stress and tenseness at my hospital on a daily basis. I also have faith that we will get through this and being positive and encouraging to everyone makes the Journey so much easier! Good luck

I agree with the op. Making fastpasses and dining reservations makes it seem real again. And I do think it will be open. But then I'm an eternal optimist.

I agree. After losing our April trip, is was fun to make ADRs for our October trip.
