Pick up rental car next morning?

We are traveling from WDW to DCL in January. We are renting a minivan from the Car Care Center and dropping off at Port Canaveral. If I pick up before we head to the parks on Thursday around 9 am and drop off after 12 pm on Friday, I am charged a 2 day rental of $120 per day...however if I "say" I am getting the car at 7pm Wednesday and dropping off at 12 pm Friday, the two day rental cost is $65 per day ($156 with tax). What would happen if I reserved it for Wednesday night but didn't show up until Thursday morning to get the vehicle? The reservation would be prepaid.

How long will they hold your reservation before considering you a "no show"?

But will you be able to change or cancel it? I ask because it's super-early to expect that the current price will be the best you'll see for January. It's good to reserve, but only if it can be changed or cancelled. And then you check repeatedly to reprice.

As for picking it up the next day...it's a good question. If your flight had been delayed and you contacted them they would hold it for you. Not sure if it would stay the same price though.

I booked it through undercover tourist and they said they will refund as long as canceled within the appropriate cancellation window. I wouldn't expect a 1-way van to go much lower on New Years Day....do you think?

I just spoke with Alamo.com and found out great news! Since my reservation is Pre-paid, they hold it for 24 hours. If it wasn't, they cancel it at the close of business. Therefore I CAN pick it up in the morning and get the better rate!
