last Dec i got the best rate (no drop off charge) from Dollar, used the oi1054 corp ID.
mousesavers has it & lots of codes listed, otherwise see flyertalk

fyi, sometimes their best deals pop up when u don't input any codes...try that 1st

Generally within the state of Florida, there are no drop-off charges. You should be able to get the same or similar rates as if you dropped in the same place.

However, I have heard that sometimes if you're using a discount coupon, the terms of some of the coupons may state it does not apply to "one-way" rentals. I'd still try to apply it anyway and see if you get the discount, since a Florida to different Florida rental may not be considered one-way.

Here's the fine print...

there is no drop charge, but they will charge you .45 cents a mile driven over the total of the trip. ( not just from Orlando to Tampa )

We rented from Dollar p/u at TPA, d/o at MCO. Used a code and had no problem getting a cheap rate.

Must depend on the company. We did a one way rental MCO to RSW (Fort Myers) last March with National - no drop charge, no mileage charge - we are EC members, so that might have helped us.

Also have a one way booked with Hertz in Feb. This one is MCO to TPA. Reservation clearly says unlimited mileage Again, we're Hertz Gold members which might make a difference.

We do this all the time, and vice versa, with National and never pay a drop or mileage charge. Have used Emerald Code and a few others.
In fact, for our Dec/Jan trip, it's actually CHEAPER to drop off in TPA. That could change (I keep checking to get a lower rate) but it's an interesting turn of events.

I don't know about the rates, but I did have to change my drop off from Orlando to Tampa once due to a cancelled flight, I was able to get on one later that day in Tampa... Alamo had no problem with the change in drop off AND no extra charge for the later drop off
