Is it possible to pick up a bottle of Champagne at the resorts/parks to celebrate a special event or is that something that I would have to run off-site for?

TIA

the hotel restaurants/shops should have two or three choices...
try Disney’s Fairy tale blend….
you can buy some at a few places in Epcot but you cant walk around with a bottle but no alcohol in MK...Even in the castle restaurant

you can buy bottles in Epcot. for true champagne, i'd probably go to France.

but you can get the Fairy Tale cuvee (sparkling wine) as mentioned from most any resort gift shop. it's from Iron Horse and reportedly is pretty decent.

The Iron Horse Fairy Tale Cuvee is quite tasty - you should be able to find it in most resort gift shops that sell food (check the refrigerated cases). I know I've seen it sold in that shop on the Boardwalk that seems to sell everything under the sun. ;)

I just checked my bottle. I bought it last Aug for $27.95 for .750ml

another option that I do - UPS !

I pack a box and ship it to myself... usually including snacks, treats, and a bottle of Champagne - for $27 I would expect a fine wine, White Star.. for $19.99 here I can buy the Italian Red Sparkling Wine that I can never remember the name of that they sell next to the chocolates in EPCOT...

but I do enjoy some of hte $10 St Michele for instance too... I have champagne tastes, on a beer budget!!

Can you get this in the POR gift shop? I knew we could at VWL but since we had to switch, just trying to get as much info about what I can do for our wedding night. ;)

i say most any but i can't really say i know of a place that doesn't. i'm sure POR would have as well as POFQ (i know beer is sold at POFQ). resorts sell all forms of alcohol. some of is it in the refrigerated section and the grain stuff is kept by the counters.

Is the fairy tale stuff dry or sweet?? :confused3

It's a dry champagne, but not excessively so. For the price you get a decent bottle of champagne - nothing exceptional but still good.

If you like a sweeter sparkling wine try the Banfi Rosa Regale. It's excellent - light and with a hint of sweetness but not overpowing - and retails at about $20.

Love Rosa Regale! :thumbsup2

Banfi Rosa Regale

THAT'S IT!!

I'm sorry, I always forget the name of this great stuff!! You can try it for $5 a glass at EPCOT - those little Kiosks sell it, you can buy a bottle in the Italian area store - it is light refreshing, red, it has a hint of sweetness, but its not overpowering - it does have the berry flavors... blackberry? rasberry? just a hint, again, it tastes like Champagne!! but it doesnt have that "oak - y" flavor to it!!

I believe in Disney you'll pay $30 for the bottle I believe I read - but at our wine store it does sell for $19.99

When you check in, go to the gift shop (or at Pop you'd go to the food court area - just ask any CM!) look over the champagne selections, and ask the CM's

and maybe go to EPCOT and try a couple - try the Pomfry which is a true champagne from Champagne France - and try the Rosa in Italy - again, $5 a glass - and either pick up a bottle in EPCOT or stick with the REsort champagne -

either way, champagne has a way of making occassions festive!!

Brenda beat me to the punch, Sandy. ;)

Pssst. It goes great with chocolate. :rolleyes1

Thank you all for the input! My GF and I are going to be staying at POP and ::cross his fingers:: will have good reason to uncork a bottle of bubbly and celebrate!!! It sounds like POP should it. Thank you all again!!

I'll keep my fingers crossed -

we're staying at pop end of Sept, I'll try and scope the place out for you and post my findings...

and they do have a concierge there if you need any "help" on the "special" event you're wanting to celebrate - I think CM's love to be a part of that too!!
(and have you ever had Strawberries with Champagne?? YUMM! I love popping a strawberry on the side of the glass, or dropping a slice into the glass)

POR has a very nice Asti for about 18.00. Fun sparkling wine, no fancy price. Lots of options at WDW.
