I think you might be confusing Desert Inn with Desert Palms. Desert inn is right next to Park Vue, which is right by the crosswalk over harbor to the DLR.
Thank you, I most definitely am…has that always been there? :rotfl: I can’t say I’ve seen it pop up as a recommended place to stay as often then, despite its superb location. But I most certainly haven’t stayed there (whereas I did stay at the Desert Palms many many years ago).

it’s been there for years. It’s usually mentioned when people need bigger room types because they have a variety of different style suites, or it’s mentioned because it’s more of a budget friendly hotel for being so close to the crosswalk. ☺️

I don’t know why both properties picked such similar names as that can be very confusing!

I voted for Tropicana. I have stayed there several times, and the beds are just fine, although I can't speak for the sleeper chair. SO close to the crosswalk! I've also stayed at the Desert Inn, and it's fine as well, but the hot tub has always been SUPER foamy every time I've walked past and the one at the Tropicana has seemed

My husband usually rents a scooter offsite, and it isn't uncommon to find them charging in the lobby or along the sidewalk, so you may not need to have it in your room.

My daughter doesn't seem to have the same problem with beds as I have - she absolutely LOVES the sleeper chairs at AKL and BLT so I feel like she should be ok. If she would complain, I planned on ordering a mattress topper from target and having it delivered to us at the hotel!

I forget that torrential sudden rain is not as common in SoCal - I'd never want to leave a scooter on the outside sidewalk in WDW!

If you go during certain times of the year (May-Oct), it basically never rains.

My 5-year old loved the Tropicana sleeper chair. I don't know what he'll think when he's older, or what an adult would think, but this was our most recent experience!
