Piano practice on-board?

Yes. Of course I've always thought that trombones are dangerous.
Haha, my son has asked if he could bring his trombone on a cruise. Even if it were allowed, we're not dealing with that on the plane... he's asked for land vacations as well (like to visit family).

but he's only been playing a year. If he gets to be extremely serious about it, perhaps he'll travel with it.

Of course, I was only making a trombone joke. I hope he keeps with it.

BTW, I see on Youtube that Princess seems to have yearly ukulele cruises. Maybe there could be music cruises, where everyone IS invited to bring their intrument. Now that would be interesting. Little jam sessions all over the ship. (And free ear plugs.)
