Piano at Whitehall Room?

Has anyone hired the pianist for a wedding breakfast / reception at the Whitehall Hall?

If so, is the piano they use full scale or more like a keyboard? How did it sound (ie. is it very loud)? Can it be heard on the patio?

We had the piano at our reception in the whitehall room (it was the piano they have in the lobby of the GF, one of my guests saw them wheeling it around)

So yes it is a big piano - it was louder than I expected so you could easily hear it on the patio.

Are you glad you had the piano? Did you request music (including for the first dance) or did they just play a selection?

Yes I am glad I had the piano, It does take up quite a bit of room though so this is def worth considering.

Depending on the sort of music the pianist played it could get very loud (I did not put any requests in, apart from our first dance, so just let him choose.)

As said we did choose our 1st dance song and there was still enough room for us to have a dance!

It looks great on our photos, we had the mice come along and they did some fantastic shots of them playing the piano and us dancing.

The only thing that I would recommend is maybe suggesting the sort of music that you would like. Other than that it was the perfect choice for us.

Sorry cant post any pics as have no idea how to do it, but I can tell you that the piano was located quite near the door (as you go thru the double doors it was on the left) it was not intrusive in the room at all (We had 3 tables of 10)

Thanks so much for the info. I am seriously considering the piano now - I think the idea of the photos with the mice sold it!
