PI Housing

Hey guys!

I am looking at applying for a PI for Spring 2012 and I wanted to get y'alls' opinions on housing for the internship. I know they have something set up with Cumberland Park but I didn't know how it worked exactly or if it was worth it.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Cumberland is reserved on first come first served basis because there is definitely not enough room for all the PIs. Also management interns are not allowed to live in Cumberland and must automatically find their own apartment.
That being said if you don't make it into Cumberland through Disney you can also rent an apartment at Cumberland on your own. If you rent through Disney it's 2 people to 1 room (like the CP).

If you end up finding someone you'd like to live with on facebook before hand there are tons of other housing options off property that are usually more cost effective, so it's all personal preference.

I'm at Cumberland now and I like it. Yes I do share a room, but my roommate and I started talking through FB, then texts, and then we met the day before we moved in. One of the people we requested for didn't get into our apartment, but all of my roommates are great and I enjoy it.

I also like the fact that rent and utilities comes out of the paycheck so I'm not writing checks all the time.

We do have get togethers and since Cumberland is considered Disney Housing you can get into all of the housing events at the Commons which are apparently across the street (I haven't been there as of yet).

Cumberland has nice facilities though, with a movie theatre, small gym, 1/2 Basketball court, and pool table in the clubhouse and then 2 pools on property. I haven't had too much of an issue parking either.

A lot of other interns are staying at Coral Cay so if you are going into management or want other options that's where others are.
