Would it be OK to take a 12 and 15 year old to an early show at the Comedy Warehouse?

I know people have brought their kids to the early shows. Before the shows starts they do have a "disclaimer" and they tell the audience that there are certain words they won't say on stage because of the mouse.

We have taken DS when he was younger and it was no problem. It's a great place to take them.

My brother has been there on almost ever trip since was 10. The comedy is relatively clean - no dirty words that I remember. However, there may be the random audience member that shouts out something inappropriate. If your kids watch movies with bad words it won't be a problem, most of the comedy is just good fun. There may be some innuendo that they may or may not pick up on. Don't worry, this isn't an HBO comedy special.

Took DS last summer at 13 - a little bit of innuendo - nothing he hasn't been exposed to from prime time sit-coms (I'm pretty strict about what he watches- I check out all PG13, no R movies, etc). We loved the show - found it very funny and quick-paced - I specifically took him to the early show at the recommendation of others here at the Dis - we will definitely go again on our next trip!

We've been taking our DS to PI since he was about 10. We usually go to the first comedy show and then go over to the Adventurer's Club for awhile. One year he was so hooked on the AC that we went 6 out of the 9 nights we were there. The AC cast got to know him and even pulled him into the show once. The masks in the mask room also talked to him once and surprised some unsuspecting people who were sitting in the Mask room.

Another great thing about the Comedy club is that sometimes the kids will see actors that they may recognize from Disney tv shows or Nickalodean shows. One year BJ recognized someone and he came back onstage as we were walking by to the exit and I asked him if he was Steve from the show Shelby Woo and he said yes and I told him BJ recognized him and loved his show and he spent about 10 minutes talking to him.

Contrary to what others have posted, PI is not always a good place for children. Pleasure Island Clubs are meant/advertised for adults, not families.

Every night at PI is different. Not all nights are like those described in the above posts, especially if you are there after 10 p.m. Be aware that you may have to leave after a couple of hours or so if you do not want your children exposed to drinking and the behavior that often accompanies it. Those under 18 must be accompanied by a parent at all times while they are there.

That said, many people do bring teens and that is each family's choice to make. Most who do say they choose the early show at the Comedy Club followed by a visit to the Adventurer's Club. They leave after that.

Enjoy your trip!

I have been to every time slot at the Comedy Warehouse and Adventurer's Club several times. I think all the shows are appropriate for teens, unless they changed the format since my last visit. I stayed @ Fort Wilderness 17 days and went almost every night. I will agree with the last poster, the later it gets the more wild it gets. Hey, but that's the nature of PI.
