Phyllis George passes away, age 70

A real TV sports pioneer back in the early 70's. I recall those days well, uncharted territory back then.

Cant believe she was already 70 , when I was a kid, she was only women doing anything broadcasting for the NFL, she was a credit to her gender

I was so sad to read this. Didn't remember her from broadcasting sports, but remember her from when I was a little girl and would watch the Miss America pageants. Never read or heard one unkind thing about her. RIP, beautiful lady.

I remember her chicken. I don't think I ever ate it, but there must have been a commercial in the 80's about Chicken by George.

She definitely was a great influence for women in sportscasting and business.
