Backstory. These days, in live talks, TV shows, books, movies, etc. we are given a backstory before the current story begins. Unfortunately, the backstory is too hard to believe, usually crafted from minute bits and pieces to create an inspirational tale worth your time and/or money. I don't like to be patronized in that way.
Some DisBoard dislikes:
Vacay - do you mean Vacation?
Brekkie - do you mean Breakfast?
Cindy's - do you mean Cinderella's Castle? IMO her name was Ella, not Cindy. She was forced to clean cinders out of fireplaces. Thus Ella received the derisive nickname Cinder Ella, shortened to Cinderella.
