I hope this is a good enough place to share these. It's not regarding trip planning or a trip report, but I thought I'd share some photo's that I've learned how to create the Orton Effect on photoshop. Most are of Disneyland, but only a few are of WDW (Oak Alley Plantation shots are thrown in there too). I'm adding to this group all the time.

It's involves a process of overlapping to images of the same photo, one blurry and one crisp and brightly colored, on top of one another.

It gives the photo's a dreamlike quality about them which I think is perfect for Disneyland photo's.

Check them out if you like.

Thanks for sharing. As a fellow Photoshop'er, I found this to be an Interesting effect. Well done. They look almost like paintings. Funny thing... I found while flipping through them, I got a little dizzy. Is that a comment effect with this technique? (Not being funny - seriously asking.)

I really like this one:

Where is that?

Thanks again for sharing,

I've actually had that same sort of feeling and had others say the same thing.

That house is Oak Alley Plantation, located outside of New Orleans. One of the most preserved plantations in the south, with 250 yr old trees.

Interesting. I truly felt myself getting dizzy and a little "woozy." Odd.

Great picture. Wonderful effect. Looks like a painting. :wizard: You should print and frame it.

Thanks everyone. At least one out of every 100 pictures I take at Disneyland turns out good enough to do something with. I'm still learning. :)

I think you definitely have more than one out of every hundred to work with! These are great! I love that almost pastoral, dreamy quality of the pictures.

These are really awesome! Any way I'd be lucky enough to use them as my computer desktop background?

The Adobe program I use allows you to transform photos into Andy-Warholesque images. I played with the photo of my family in front of the castle at WDW from last summer and came up with some very cool results, but I can't get the danged things to open off my jump drive once I get to a photo kiosk. I have a feeling it's because I'm working on a Mac. Urg!

Your images are wonderful...I wish I were up-to-date enough on technology to create and share things that way!

I like those! How fun! It has been a long time since I fiddled with my photos! :rotfl: I've been meaing to get back to them.

When you saved your images, did you save them as a .psd or a .jpg file? You need to save them as a jpg and add the jpg's to the jump drive.

I love the teacup shots, and the casey junior shot. Fabulous representation of DL.

Care to share the steps on how to do this? I am always wanting to learn new things with Photoshop :)

I have a cheat sheet for photoshop that I was given. It's not that it's complicated, but just a list of like 15 steps. If you've ever used photoshop at all, you would find the steps easy. I can try to upload tonight when I'm home from work.

There is also a way to do this on Picasa as well, which of course is a free program that can be downloaded. To get the steps to do this through Picasa, google, "orton effect, picasa" it's the first link. Unfortunately work blocks EVERYTHING! Try this link and see if that works.

I'm pretty good with photoshop I've been using it for about 4 years now but I never read the book that mine came with lol I pretty much taught myself everything I know.
