I've been looking/wanting/lusting at PS Extended CS5 for a while now. I just realized that because I homeschool my children that I qualify to purchase the student and teacher edition here. I have read and read and can't tell if there is a difference performance wise between that edition and the regular edition. Does anyone know if there is a difference?? Thanks!!

According to this article, there are only these small differences but they are not in the product:

But it’s true there are some limitations as compared to the regular editions… Happily they are all fairly minor:

Each eligible person may purchase only one copy of each product per platform per year.
Student & Teacher Edition software may be used on your privately-owned computer only.
The software is not transferrable, meaning it may not be resold or given to others.
You validate eligibility after placing your order to receive your unique serial number key.
Student editions cannot be upgraded to other education editions – but do receive Adobe’s discounted upgrade pricing to all regular commercial versions (say for a future release like CS6 or CS7), or you can purchase another student edition if you still qualify. But the student price on a new release is often lower than the commercial upgrade price anyway, so you can just choose which is cheaper depending… Bottom line, this is another substantial savings and advantage of owning these – basically you get your future releases discounted as well.

Thanks for posting about the discount! I think I'll get it as well.

Did you buy CS5? I was wondering what documentation you used. Tomorrow, I'm going to call Adobe to find out what I will need because my daughtr is home-schooled too.

I haven't bought it yet. I thought I would wait until we got back from our Disney vacation, which starts in two weeks and four days!!

I have to send a letter or intent to our local school board every year, so a copy of that will be what I use. You can also use your membership info. for a hs group or the HS Legal Defense Association. I think you can also use student and teacher id cards. You can either make those yourself or print some for free from HS Buyer's Co-op. HTH!!
