Photoshop Help!

Ok I am about to sign up for a Photoshop class now which one should I take
Photoshop Elements 9 or CS5?
What is the difference?
I will be mainly working with photos
Any help/suggestion are greatly appreciated

I'd start with elements 9. It is very similar to CS5 bu it has some features that are friendly to novice users.

Which program do you own? Elements is the consumer version and CS5 the professional version. I own and use Elements 8 and as the earlier poster mentioned is geared toward the average shooter that is going to adjust exposure, white balance, etc. It does have other features,but as I stated is geared more for the average consumer.

Unless you're planning to be a professional photographer in the next year I'd go with Elements. It's a great place to start and all the skills you learn will carry over if you ever decide to move to CS.

I have Elements 9 but I have the option of taking a class in either Elements or CS 5
