Photos Lost, I'm DEVASTATED!!!

Long story short, it appears that I threw away 2 memory cards from our digital camera. They contained the beginning and the end of our trip to WDW last week (DS's first trip) including DS's 1st BIRTHDAY at the Whispering Canyon, his birthday breakfast with the princesses, and his character lunch with Mickey and friends. I'm DEVASTATED! Luckily, friends and family have some pics of his birthday party. I just can't believe this happened. I'm a scrapbooker and it is ALL about the photos for me. We'll be going again in December, but this was his FIRST trip and his FIRST birthday. Thank God that I do have a lot of pics in the camera from the middle of the trip, but how else can I look on the bright side?

OMG I am so sorry! We had a scare last weekend thinking that we may have taped over the video from our ds's first trip, but luckily it was found! I hope you find your memory cards tucked away somewhere!

So sorry this has happened.. .you must feel awful...But to look on the bright side...At least you have some pics from other people And...You will always have the special memory in your head. Noone can take that from you.
When your ds is older tell him that the memories of his 1st birthday were so special that they are always imprinted in your mind.

I'm so sorry this happened! I feel your pain though. We have 40 minutes of blue screen on our video camera because we didn't know the tape had messed up. All of Epcot and two days at MK were on there (including son on Dumbo and Barnstormer, Goofy on Barnstormer, Spectro and Wishes, lunch at Garden Grill - I keep remembering things I taped and it makes me sick). Add to that the photopass photographers (3 separate photographers) did something where pictures are missing (MGM and Character Connection) and it just makes me want to cry.

I'm so glad other people took pictures so at least you will have those. Have you looked everywhere?? Those things are so little.

Oh I am so sorry! I so know how you are feeling. Just took my two youngest for their first trip and lost my digetal camera with card. Got home and realized our other digetal didn't work and only 11 pictures are in the internal memory. THEN my DS2 got ahold of my video tape (don't ask me how, dad was watching him) and broke the tape. My DH swears we can find someone to fix it, but I have my doubts. I am a scrapbookers too and it is devastating. I'm glad others had some pictures for you.

Though it is no consolation--we lost film rolls from our honeymoon. and all these years later I just have no desire to scrapbook it b/c we are missing a day. Lame I know. But it stinks with lost pics!

After you cry about it try to put it into perspective you lost pictures not your son. You have the most important things your son and the memories you made. It hurts and you will always remember you did it but you do have some photos so it really isn't like you lost all of them. I always try to think about people who have really lost something when I start beating myself up over something like this. Sorry.

So sorry to hear about your pictures. I would be so sad. We taped over MVMCP video that had Holiday Wishes on it. I was so upset! Just figured it out the other day.

I feel so bad for you. I'm sure you've already done everything I would do....go thru all of the trash & literally tear the house apart. I, too, am a scrapbooker.

I am so sorry this happened!

On the day our adopted daughter arrived home at the airport (the FIRST time we EVER met her), the person taking the pictures was using a camera with no film in it. We have a couple of pictures someone else took from another camera, but the camera without the film was the MAIN camera. We were so upset not to have those pictures of the first time we held dd. It's sad to lose pictures.

Did you use Photopass? Maybe you'll get some more pictures from that.

I hope that your memory cards turn up somewhere.

Thanks for being so understanding and supportive. Not everyone "gets it". But GUESS WHAT!!! I FOUND THEM! The memory card case had somehow gotten wedged in the LaZboy gears and I had to turn the whole chair upside down in order to find it. It was SUCH a bizarre occurance! So HOORAY!!!

I am so sorry for this happening to you. I know the feeling of losing precious pictures. DH somehow deleted digital pictures of our god daughters birth when transferring them to the computer. I was so at the same time, but knew there was nothing we could do. I am sure your friends will have some great pics for you.
