We're back from a great 3-day weekend with family in St. Louis. For most of them, it was their first glimpse and hug since Bobby returned from Iraq.

As for me...I was just thrilled to see him have the chance to relax and enjoy his surroundings. It sounded so good to hear him laugh and to see him posing for pictures with his cousins, and hear him sharing stories with his uncles. It was just a GREAT weekend!!! :D

Looks like you had a great weekend Patty! Thanks for sharing the pictures. :D

Looks like you had a great weekend to bask in the sunshine with your family. I heard northern Indiana got some terrible storms over the weekend...sounds like a good time to be out of town! ;)

With the news coming out of Iraq lately, I'm so thankful Bobby is home safe and sound. Now if only we could say that for all of our soldiers. It does my heart good to get a break from the gloom and see one of America's bravest surrounded by those he loves most. Thanks for sharing, Patty! ;)

Thanks for posting the pictures. Looks like you all had a great time.

Great pics!!! Looks like the whole family had a great time over the weekend.....and you missed our "lovely" storms. ;)

BTW Did you drive or fly to St Louis? I live about an hour south of you and the boys would love to go see the Arch in person some weekend.

We drove -always do. We can make it in just under 6 hours, which isn't too bad. The traffic last night was horrendous around Chicago - added two hours to our drive. If you live an hour south of us, your best bet would be to go to Indianapolis, 465 around the city and I. 70 west all the way to St. Louis.

I grew up in that part of the country and all of hubby's family still lives there. Lots to do during a long weekend stay - the Arch, Grant's Farm, the Busch Brewery, LaClede's Landing (downtown, near the Arch) and Forest Park (the zoo). If you happen to get a rainy day, Union Station is another neat place to visit, with lots of little specialty shops.

If you go to the Arch, do it early in the day and get your tickets for the ride to the top. Once they reach their max, they won't sell any more tickets - so on busy days, the tram rides could be sold out by noon.

The only thing I have to warn you about is the heat/humidity. I don't know how I EVER forgot what that city is like in July!!!! It was in the upper 90's all weekend, and the humidity must have been 90%.
