photos before the wedding

What a lovely post Sirron!! I think the two of you should do what feels right for the two of you!! Not to mention, because of this post I am emailing Randy to see if he can do that for us, only problem with ours is that our wedding is so darn early it may not work out. Thanks for all the encouragement to all of who were undecided!! Have a great day and keep us posted!!

DH & I took our photographs before our ceremony. We have over 100 great photos that we would not otherwise have, 4 examples are in my siggie.

For a long time, DH was resistant to the idea. Here is the article that helped finally convinced him otherwise. Seriously, everyone considering this should read that article.

After the wedding, I asked him if seeing me earlier took away from the moment when I walked down the aisle. The look on his face in the photos and video had already told me it did not, but he confirmed that for me as well. He said there is nothing in the world that could have taken away from that moment. :)

Thank you so much for that link! I got misty reading about the reveal, he definitely does a great job convincing me how magical it can be to have it just the two of you! I am printing out this article for sure. You have no idea how much I appreciate it!

Good! I'm very glad I could help. :)

(I agree, it's a fabulous article.)

Annie, its so good to see your back on the boards, i havent seen you on here for a while. I took pics before hand for a few reasons,
1. I didnt want guest too wait too long, we have a big family so lots of pics
2. I wanted pics at the shades of green, polynesion, and boardwalk but we ran out of time for the boardwalk :(
3. My hubby wanted a sunrise wedding but i thought 630 would be too early for the guests, so we just did sunrise photos and im so happy we did
4. i knew we were gonna get nasty and sweaty in aug so we took the pics 1st, and we came back to freshin up for the ceremony, so we can enjoy the reception without going back into the heat

hope this helps, it is awesome to see more and more SOG brides on here :)

best wishes

Kim

Ok - My fiance won't budge on seeing me before the ceremony and I slightly agree but I'll read the article too.

Since we plan to get married at Epcot, that means earlier ceremony and I'm not a morning person:eek:, DF is though.

I was thinking of doing pics before with just me and bridesmaids and parents to cut out some pics before the ceremony, less pics to take afterwards, another bride did that on here and said it worked out great.

Just another idea...

That sounds like a great idea. And your DF could do his family pics seperately too. Would save sometime after.

We would have to do 2 cameras & 2 photographers though unless...

The photographer does him first... meaning I have a little more time to get ready:goodvibes

Good idea!

Hey Kim, thanks for the re-welcome! We found out in November that my grandma had terminal cancer and it kind of pushed aside our wedding plans for a bit. She was so devastated that she would not make it to our wedding since I would be the first grandchild to get married. My sister and fiance and I were with her one night after she was really sick and decided after talking to her that we wanted to let her see us get married. So we rushed to walmart to get me a dress (it was after midnight!), we got cheap wedding bands, some white decorations and called the family friend who is a minister the next morning to see if he could marry us that morning so grandma could be there. We had the ceremony in the living room and had classical music on a small cd player in the kitchen. She was so touched that we did it for her but she made me promise not to give up my big Disney wedding. A month later she was gone and it took me some time to get past the fact she would not be with us, but now I am looking for ways to honor her at our wedding and she will be with us in spirit. What happened with Nichole? Did she change her mind?

Anniebelle,

What a great thing to do for your grandmother. That brought tears to my eyes. Maybe include something that was a favorite of hers in the ceremony or reception?

Thanks! I certainly was crying like crazy during the ceremony. We are thinking of having her favorite flowers in the seat where she would be sitting at the reception.

I am so sorry everything you have gone through :grouphug: . i wish there was something i could do. Congrats on your marriage, im sorry you had to get married unexpectedly. Here are what I did as a memorial for my best friend of 12 years, I knew it was gonna be hard but i just kept thnking she is looking over me. once again im so sorry for what you and your hubby had to go through. if you need anything let me know. if the pic doesnt work here is the website http://s131.photobucket.com/albums/p291/elmo10110/

Thanks Kim, you are so sweet! The picture does not work because it needs a password, I am really interested in seeing it!

I Love the idea of doing the first look shot... If you are doing it before the ceremony I say go for that photo... Good Luck

That is a great idea Kim, I am going to send those pictures with the candle and the table to my mom, thanks for sharing it!

we also did the "first look" due to our photographers wanting to get in some daylight portraits (in case the after dark ones didn't turn out...btw they did and were awesome). DH was standing with his back to me and I came up behind him and tapped him on the shoulder. The videographers were there, too...

My friend did this with her fiance and he forgot they were doing it so when the photographer went to his room to say that the bride needed to speak with him, he was scared and the first look is with him looking petrified! That is why we tell guys over and over in case they tune us out because they are tired of wedding talk! haha

We are just making sure the decision is the absolute best one, I am sure I am not alone there. But I know you will know why I need to see you on the morning of our wedding day :goodvibes
