Hello,

Not sure if there is a thread somewhere else re this (?)

But want to know is anybody has used the photopass system yet, Aware there are probably some teething problems but what are peoples experiences.

Also do Universal have a similar system?

Thankyou.

We used it and it was great! We were given a plastic card that we could then "download" pictures from at the parks (for a price) and also we accessed them online when we got home. Each time a WDW photographer took our picture he "swiped" our card.

I've no idea if Universal offer it I'm afraid but it is pretty new (under 6 months) at WDW.

Hi we used photopass a lot when we were at disney this month however please bw aware that some of the photographers are not the best !! Heads chopped off on a lot of the photos so please also take a back up with your camera!! We also found out that if the photopass card gets wet the number rubs off the back - great fun to decipher when you get home though.

Universal hand out seperate pieces of paper each time you have your photo taken and you need to view and purchase that day from the photo shop but their photographers seemed to be a lot better!!

Hope that helps x x x :wizard:

We used this once or twice last December. The CMs also offered to take pictures with our own cameras.

Anybody been recently and used this service? Any problems?

Thankyou

We used it just a few weeks ago - we found that a couple of pics were missing from the collection - even though he swiped the card. Nice to be able to see the pics when we get home and - and the option of ordering more.

I just got back from WDW. I LOVE photopass! It was great. I saw all my photos online today, emailed them to friends, and will purchase one or two before they expire. Fun!

We too loved the photopass, the only problems we experienced were somephotos were not downloaded, and we ended up with 30+ of other peoples photos.

Just check them out before you leave the park, the photos stay on the system for three days before they go on the internet.

Can someone explain these to me please I get the basic idea behind them but where do you buy them from and can you buy them if you are not staying onsite? I know this sounds a really silly question but I've never heard of them.

The photopass is free. (Yup, as free as a refillable mug refill! ) Just apporach one of the official photographers and they'll take your pic and hand you a plastic card (once they've swiped it to load your pic on). They'll also happily take pics with your own camera too. Then whichever park you're in just hadn the plastic card to the photographer and they'll swipe your pic in. Our worst pics were in Epcot, our best MK, but we also had a cute one in MGM with Stitch coming out of a hat (so we had to have that!) :wizard: . Our biggest probolem was getting younger DS to smile - he doesn't like the sun in his eyes, or smiling if he doesn't want to! We never spotted an official photographer in AK unfortunately. :sad2:

When we got back we had about 14 pics to look at - you can then choose to add things (date logos etc.) and save both versions.

We found this a brilliant system. With US/IOA you get a scrappy little receipt to present at the end of the day - if it survives ripsaw falls, bilgerat barges etc.! The Spiderman pics were available on the spot - you can get the pic made into a newspaper page, and even a cartoon - but they were $17.95 + tax so we declined. And we never went back to see any of the others.
