Photopass

I think I read once that if you write down the number for ride photos, you can later get that added to a PP+ as well. That true? Thanks for all the good info! :)
Yes. Only ride photos can be scanned to the PP+ card. If others in your group go on a ride with a photo op, they need to write down the number. The person with the PP+ card will need to go back to that ride photo area, and get the photo added. All PP cards can be added by staff at the photo stores or online.
The rides that have photos are:
DL
Space
Splash

DCA
RSR
ToT
CA Screamin'

Oh shoot I figured you just hand the person behind the counter your PP+
Yes and no...in most cases, knowing the number if helpful to make it go faster. When you approach the counter, you tell the CM the photo number and they'll pull it up and then ask you if that's correct. If it is, then they'll scan your PP+ card and you're all set. If you just got off the ride, sometimes they'll just pull up the bunch of photos and ask you which one is yours and then they'll add it to your card. Still, I would note down all of the numbers because if the photos don't appear for some reason, it's easier for PP Guest Services go back and find the photo if you know the number.

Do you know how long they keep pictures from rides for? Like if half of my family goes on a ride with a picture and writes down the number can I return an hour or so later and give them the number to bring up the picture and then have them scan it onto my card?

Oh how cool! Now I don't have to worry about waiting around with the baby for the fam to get off Space Mountain to get their ride picture! Yay!

It might be easier to give your family the PP+ card so they can add the ride photo to the PP+ account right at that time rather than having to trek back to the ride photo area. Even if you opt to take the baby and meet characters, you can just use a regular PP card for that.

True but I am glad I know this info incase there is a time when I am across the park doing something else and they decide to hop on a ride that takes a picture.

Does anyone know if there an option to buy a digital download of all your photos at one price at Disneyland like disneyworld has memory maker?

When I got my photo CDs this last time, one of them was delaminated, so I called the PP support number (which I don't have handy) and they not only re-sent my CDs, but also gave me the download option. Which was nice. So you might be able to call and ask nicely if they'll do that.

If you've just gotten off the ride, then yes, just go to the ride photo counter and hand them your PP+ to scan and tell them your ride photo number. What figment_jii was saying was that if your group splits up, the half that's not carrying the PP+ card can write down their ride photo number, and then later the person holding the PP+ card can go back to the ride photo counter to have it added to the account. I've done this several times, sometimes a few days later.

I say, take a cell phone picture of the ride photo (so that you have the photo number, a visual description of what people were wearing, and a date & time stamp of approximately when you rode). From the PP super thread, someone had reported a CM at SM saying they keep the ride photos for 2weeks in the system. I know they definitely keep it for at least a couple of days.

Be aware that sometimes they intentionally delete photos if they see something inappropriate. For example, at Splash Mtn, the CM was debating whether they could release a photo to me because it almost looked like someone else in our log was mock choking another passenger. Thankfully they decided that it was ok, and I was able to add the photo to my PP+ (bummer when other people ruin things, don't you think?). Or, there was a time at RSR where they DID remove our photo because someone else in the car had a "seatbelt fault"?? I'm guess someone tried to unbuckle during the ride?
