We have bought Photopass + our last few trips at WDW as it was a no brainer. As back then it included the photopackages from the meals as well as the CD. And we get a lot of pictures especially meet and greets. Now we're going to DL this summer and I'm confused on the value. Are there photo packages at the character meals at DL or just downloads? I also read that the characters are not structured meet and greets therefore don't have PP photographers. So what pictures can we get besides rides and the pictures in front of the castle? Where are there usually PP photographers to be found? Thanks for helping. We are soo looking forward to returning to DL as it's been a long time. There is nothing like the feeling I get being in Walt's park and getting to see the 60th is just over the top.:cloud9:

I know that the photo package Surf's Up (PCH Grill) (breakfast only) is included with PP+. I would assume it also includes the photo packages at the other three locations listed on the PP+ lanyard card (Goofy's Kitchen, Ariel's Grotto, and Plaza Inn (breakfast only)). The attraction photos are California Screamin', Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, Radiator Springs Racers, and Tower of Terror. It is true that a lot of the character meet and greets are less structured at DLR than at WDW, however there are still Photopass photographers at a lot of them. I saw photographers at all of the formal meet and greets we went to (e.g., Princess Fantasy Fair, Pixie Hollow, Cozy Cones). I also saw them with the characters that met at regular locations (e.g., on Buena Vista Street, Doc McStuffins, Woody, Red, etc.). I think WDW has more non-character location photographers, but I did see them at the entrance to DL, on MS, by the Partners Statue, by the Castle, and at more locations throughout DCA.

I found that there plenty of opportunities to have PP photographers take photos during my trip. For our group it was a good deal because we did a character meal, went on the attractions with ride photos, and met lots of characters. If you aren't doing all three, I might not get PP+, but to be honest, I don't get it at WDW because it's so much more expensive.

We have PP+ for our trip later this month. However, our first park day starts with a character meal before the park opens, so we won't have the opportunity to claim our PP+ card before we eat. Can we link the card we get at the character breakfast with our PP+ package so all the photos will be included on our CD?

You will be given a PP picture card at the breakfast. Simply take it with you when you activate your prepaid voucher (if can't activate at breakfast), and they will add them for you. You can also go to the website and add the PP card (number) yourself.

Any idea if they pass out a PP card at Jedi Training Academy? Any other experiences like JTA that feature a PP photographer?

The photographers are all over at different locations. the princess faire, you will wall through and meet at least 4 princesses... with sometimes 1 out the front with a photog .
Mickey and Minnie at their house.. goofy and Pluto in all in ToonTown. Tink meet and great you will have one.. Merida has one ( although not sure if she still out and about near IASW) Then over in critter land you will have a meet and greet with Pooh , tigger and Eore. all the characters in the main square should have one attached to them. Then over near Big Thunder Mountain you have the Jamboree area ,, they will have different meet and greets there with a photog too
In C/A. they have Pluto and Goofy hanging round near the trolly In the big circle when you first enter.
Cars land you will have one near the top of the black top.. and large C/L sign.. then closer in near the cross roads. then veer round to the right to get to the pier and there will be another one..
you will find one or two hanging round near the bridge that looks over Mickeys wheel of death. then on the pier itself . and some other sites that I just cant remember at the moment .

We took the PP card from JTA to the camera shop to have them added to the PP+ card. Worked just fine

We have done PP+ at both WDW and DL and we have never felt like we did not get our money's worth. We wind up with a ton of pictures at DL. Carsland alone has a bunch of great options, both during the day and at night. Jedi Training Academy does have Photopass. The character meals do have the photo op out front and at least as of last summer the printed package was still being given with PP+. In any event, they will be in your photopass account. The character meal photos run $32 each, so if you are doing meals it is definitely worth it. Mickey's Breakfast doesn't usually have a character in the photo, but our last trip those were my absolute favorite photos from the trip. The photographer knew we had PP+ so he took some pictures of DD by herself with her Duffy bear and also some family photos and they are so great that I have 8X10s framed of both the family shot and DD's picture. I really feel like at WDW you get a lot of quick snaps and move on. At DL, since there are more locals and less people with PP+, we have felt like the minute a lot of those photographers see the PP+ card, they go out of their way to try to get you some good photos. We had one guy walk us around an take shots of us different places on Buena Vista Street. We had a lady in Carsland during the day, tell us where she would be set up that night in Carsland and also tell us where the best spots at Carsland at night were to take pictures. We have some great nighttime shots from there. We also have a really fun night one in front of the Tower of Terror where we are acting scared. There are a bunch of character meet and greets that do have photopass. If you keep an eye out for the photographers and stop and grab shots when you see them, you can definitely make it worth your while.

This is exactly our experience as well. We have had PP photographers go out of their way to get us great shots, walk around with us to unique locations to get pictures, and take candids when DS wasn't in the mood for posed photos. And with the cost of the character meal photo packages & ride photos, it quickly pays for itself.

We got photopass plus on our first DL trip last fall. We felt the photographers overall made more of an effort than WDW (our experience as 2 adults). We were celebrating our 30th anniversary and got lots of fun photos with the two of us together. Ask for magic shots. No one offered but when we remembered to ask, they were happy to oblige. Have a great trip!

It's been a year, but we redeemed our voucher at Surf's Up, which we did on our first morning before we entered the park. We got the prints and the digital images.

We also did Jedi Training, and there was a photopass photographer there. You have to hang around a bit after it's over to get the card, and you may have to approach the photographer, but they are there.

Between the photos from the breakfast and the ride photos--which were awesome and we woudn't have paid for otherwise--we definitely feel like we got our money's worth.
