Can I ask someone if I have got this correct re photopass.

1. Buy before you go (hopefully disney send you email to get discount).

2. When on holiday use the facility to have as many photos taken as possible (including water parks).

3. You do not see the photos until you come home?

4. Do they email them to you and you are only allowed so many?

Not sure on this one, i've always said i won't get it and then been persuaded otherwise

Yes, bag as many photos on it as possible and get a wristband card to take around the parks so that you can grab them all on one. In fact we kept our wristband one and used that all the time as it was easier than getting your wallet out to get out a card. We also made a point to upload all our photos onto two other cards as regularly as we could incase one went missing.

3. You do not see the photos until you come home?

You can go to a photopass stand and go through what photos you have on there so far at any time. We quite like to do this at Downtown Disney during a stroll around and an ice cream! Then when you get home make as many edits as you can, you can add borders, crop the photos, change to black and white etc!

4. Do they email them to you and you are only allowed so many?

As far as i know you can have as many on a photopass cd

I believe this has changed from when I last did it - you used to automatically get a discount if you pre-purchased however I think now you have to wait for a discount once you have booked through Disney

Definitely - there are plenty of photopass photographers around in all of the parks and don't forget the 'magic' pictures you can get, featuring Tink, Simba, Stitch etc. in each park. In the waterparks, you will get separate photopass cards which are on a bracelet so you don't lose them. I have to say, though, we didn't see a single photopass photographer at Blizzard Beach in October.

3. You do not see the photos until you come home?

You can go to the photo place in any of the parks (usually near the main entrance) to view your pictures. It's quite nice to do that in case any haven't come out the way you'd like - gives you the opportunity to get more as well. Quite often, thogh, we don't bother to look until we come home

4. Do they email them to you and you are only allowed so many?

When you get back, you go to the Photopass site, enter your photopass numbers (you might have more than one card if you have separate water park ones etc) and you can then view all your pictures, order prints etc.

Hope I have answered all your questions :)

As Joh says you can now only get the pre-pay discount if you are staying on-site, booked through Disney and are on their marketing database - and even then there's no guarantee you will get the magic e-mail with the discount offer.

As has already been said you can view the pics at many of the booths around, but you can look online as well. The thing to remember here though is that the 30 day countdown begins as soon as you log on and look at the pics you have had taken, meaning less time in the comfort of your own home sorting out the borders etc once you get back.

Thanks ... next few questions.

Does the photopass only pay for the taking of the photos?

Do you then have to purchase each photo at a certain cost?

If not and you get a CD does this mean you can only look at photos on line or you can take to a shop to have them developed?

Thanks again:goodvibes

You don't pay for anything until you place the order after doing your borders etc. Having the photos taken at the parks is free.

You can purchase individual photos but it would probably work out cheaper to buy the disc - especially if you end up with 700+ photos like we did.

If not and you get a CD does this mean you can only look at photos on line or you can take to a shop to have them developed?
Once you have finished playing with the borders etc you place your order. If you have chosen the CD all of your photos will be on the disc - or 2 discs in some instances - for you to do with how you please. Either taking them to a shop or doing your own at home.

If you don't get the email with the discount offer then email them. I did and they sent a code to us.

Me again ............. you say if I choose the CD - what other option is there?

I reckon we will have lots of photos as our first time at disney and one big family - so I assume the way to go would be to get put onto CD, then I could go into say Morrisons and get them printed off???

I assume if we wanted disney to print them and we had hundred it would cost a small fortune?

Our printer at home is only a basic one.

Also - Make a note or photograph each Photopass number ASAP - then if you loose the card, you can still retrieve your piccys :thumbsup2

If you have a look on the site there are other things that they do such as the photo book, calendars - the usual stuff really.

What they have given me is $50 off when I order mine. I used the 'CONTACT US' section on the Photopass site and quoted DH's name, the hotel we were staying at and our dates, also the booking reference number. Although others on here reported no joy we received the email with the code the next day.

Eyeorefan, the photopass CD is like a normal photo CD and you can take it to any place that prints digital photos. Tesco and Jessops usually have deals on where if you have more than 150 they work out to 5p each and the quality is pretty good THis is probably cheaper than ink for your printer and buying photo paper and doing it yourself.

Unless they have adjusted it, there is a |$17 shippng charge to send your CD to the UK. Apparently that is regardless of how many CDs you have. Just remember that if you collect more than one photopass card while you are there, before you order the CD, use the option to load the pics from all the cards onto one account - otherwise you pay full price for each additional CD. There is no limit to the no of pics you can load to your account.

Not sure how much Disney woud charge, but it would be far cheaper to copy the disc yourself, since they sign the copyright of the pictures to you when you purchase the CD

Extra copies are $19.95 but why pay that, just order 1 and copy it yourself.

EDIT: Must refresh before posting in future.

I just ordered my CD and the shipping has dropped to $10.

I had a panic attack when my 350 odd pictures dropped to 180 after the photopass site was down for a day (lots of originals as well as edits missing) but an email to them got it sorted within a day and now 410 pictures are hopefully on their way to me.
