I've been reading some old threads and I'm not really any further ahead, so I'll ask my questions. Sorry if this has been asked a million times before.

Can you or can't you pre-order the DL PP?

What is the price?

Is there any advantage to buying buying in the park VS. online?

Does anyone do a PP share like we do for WDW?

Thanks all!!!!! :flower3:

You can preorder PhotoPass, but there is no reason to for DL. If you already have a PP acount with WDW photos, you will pay the WDW price for it. The cost for a DL PP is $59.95 plus tax and shipping. There are many PP shares - just take a look and see the ones going on right now. I don't know when you're going, but there are shares open most months.

Photopass questions come up every week, and yes, they have been asked a million times, but we'll do it again!;) :goodvibes

1. I don't think you can pre-order a Photopass CD anymore for DLR like you can with WDW. With WDW, there is an actual advantage in that you save money by pre-ordering. This is not the case with DLR. If you have trips to both WDW and DLR on your Photopass account/CD, and you enter the DLR card number last, you will be charged the less expensive DLR price!!!!!

2. The price for the CD if you order it online after your trip is complete is $59.95 plus $7.00 shipping in the US (not sure about Canada or other countries), for a grand total of $66.95, and an additional $19.95 if you want to order an extra copy of the CD for a friend or whatever. I didn't pay any tax, but again, not sure what they do for international orders. I am not sure what you'd pay to get the CD in the parks.

3. The only "advantage," if you will, of getting the CD in the park is that they throw in a couple of free prints with the CD, I think. You can view the pictures in the park OR online without having to buy the CD if you don't like the photos. Most of us do NOT buy the CD in the park because you cannot edit your pictures that way. It is a much better deal to view your photos online, in the comfort of your own home, after your DLR trip is complete, where you can edit them to your heart's content (each edited version is saved as another picture so you can increase the number of pictures on your PP account/CD) and add fun Disney borders and effects, then order your CD. I turned 58 pictures into 112 by editing and enhancing, and then I turned 97 pictures into 300 pictures by editing and enhancing in December - all for the same CD price of $66.95!!

4. Yes, there are Photopass shares all the time - just look down the first couple of pages of this forum and you will usually see a share thread for any given month. I didn't do a share in either October or December. I just did my own CD.

Make sure to look at the Photopass picture thread (a sticky) at the top of each page and jot down any poses, locations or effects you want to get before you go to DLR so you wont miss out. I also have a lot of PP pictures in my Trip Report (link is in my signature below) which you can take a look at if you have time.

You can preorder a PP CD, but it is the same price as for WDW - $99.95 - so it is not a good deal :thumbsup2

The last info I got (on this board, as a matter of fact) was that the DLR pre-order is no longer happening. I think it was at one time, but I heard not now. I saw no reference on the PP site about pre-ordering a CD in either October or December, but I may have missed it.

It is there on the site, you just have to hunt for it. It is not park specific - hence the $99.95 price - right here

Then there is misinformation going around in some PP threads. I think a few people are under the impression that the CD pre-order IS, indeed, park specific and is not possible to order for DLR anymore.

It is possible - not a good idea financially as you will pay far more for it - but the option is there.

Thanks....it is mostly as I thought. However, I didn't know that if I used my existing account I would be charged the WDW price. Great tip!!!!especially now that the exchange on our $$$ is about 25%. I'll just create a new account with DH's email.

And once you actually enter in DL PP numbers, it will reflect the correct price - so you don't actually have to create a new account unless you want to.

Have a great trip :thumbsup2

Hello Dancin Disney style,
A fellow Canadian here who has done many photopass shares. When you pre-order the WDW photo pass, you don't pay any shipping, even to Canada. I would think you would get this same benefit if you could possibly pre-order. The Disneyland ONLY photopass is only 59.95 whether you buy it online or in the park. If you buy it in the park though, you can't add the enhancements that you can do online. You can also join a photopass share from WDW and get your pictures taken at DL. When are you travelling, perhaps we could start a Canadian share as shipping costs to US are prohibitive? I am travelling March 14 to 21.

Just to be thorough...I'm quite sure that I could go to the photopass pre-order page, pre-order it, and apply that code to a DLR photopass.

It would just be a really bad financial decision.

There was never a specific DLR page to pre-order...it was the same page (that mentioned WDW all over) that the WDW people use. The code, however, worked just fine for DLR.

So I'm sure you could still do it if you wanted to...it just wouldn't be the brightest thing to do. :goodvibes

Hi Janjandis.....I'm still not 100% sure we are going but if we are, we will be in the LA area from March 10-18, with 3 days at DL. So that would be perfect.

I have to make a decision in the next day or two.....flights are getting more expensive.

Just to be clear-you can definitely use the prepaid CD at 99.95 to pay for the 59.95 (66.95 w/shipping) DLR CD but you won't get any money back. I preordered my WDW PP CD last August but when we got home in Sept. we visited DLR many times within the time frame allowed. When I entered my prepaid code it showed $99.95 paid less $66.95 balance due zero. The price you pay for your CD (until they change it) is based on the last pictures you have taken. At WDW or DLR. And that's by date taken, not date uploaded. Recently the site has began sorting all your PP pix by date taken. I think this is to make sure if you are ordering using the DLR price, you went to DLR last (This is to stop those who may go to DLR first, get come PP taken and not upload until after they get back from WDW)

Once I ordered my CD for $66.95 last year I then put in a request for a refund on the $99.95 paid. I was refunded no problem. Since I was in a small share group I refunded my other 2 participants some $$.
