Hi! My BF and I will be heading to DLR in June and I was hoping you all could answer a question for me. What is Photopass? I keep reading about it in the DLR trip reports and have never heard of it before......How does it work? How much does it cost? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

it's a card they will hand you to keep "track" of all the pictures they take of you with their cameras at various spots in both parks.

you can then register online or go view all your photos in the park with one card. you can buy photo prints in the park or online, or, the best deal if you have lots of pictures, you can order a CD with all the pictures they took.

We got about 75 pictures on our photopass last week. They have a special going that if you buy the CD for 86.00 including tax (Approx) you get three
5X7's free. the normal price of just the CD I think was around 120.00. I did ask and a single 5X7 costs 12.99 I didn't ask about the other sizes though. Have a great time!

Make sure you get several pictures taken by every cast member you see holding a camera (the first one will give you a plastic card w/ your photopass number on it). Get HUNDREDS of pictures taken, then buy the CD WHEN YOU GET HOME after adding borders, cropping, resizing etc.

Some cast members will even say "act surprised" or "blow a kiss", then when you check the picture, you find that they added in Tink or another character!

I wish I had done this myself! Instead, I only had 12 pictures on my photopass to play around with.

Have fun.

Last Saturday we paid only 79.99 for the CD and 3 5x7. Seems like if you don't need the boarders and stuff it is a better deal to buy it in the park.

Wow, I didn't know about that CD special! Is it only available in the park? Did they say how long that special would run? That's a heck of a difference in price!

The sign by the cash registers said 79.00 but with tax I thought I paid 86.00 as I posted. It could have been a little less than that I can't remember now. ;)

oh i was referring to those that prefer to buy it at home and pay a little more. granted, buying it once at home, you can use all the borders and stuff, but i personally don't need all that so just the pictures for my scrapbooks will be perfect.

we were surprised when we saw the sign. the only reason we went into the photo place was to use our Visa meet n greet coupon and we saw it then.

like others have said, really get as many pictures as you can. we could have gotten a ton more....but just didn't think about it on the first couple of days. we got some cute tinkerbell shots with the kids and my mom though.

I was thinking about getting it even at the 100+ price but couldn't quite decide. then I saw the sign and that made up my mind for me! :thumbsup2 Wish we could have gotten more pictures but 75 wasn't to bad.:goodvibes

I got an email from Disney the day after I registered my photopass account. In that email they offered a discount for the photo CD for $85 instead of the $125. So, it looks like it comes out to more or less the same amount if you get it at the resort.
