Okay I really am not sure where to post this so "Mousecellaneous" it is...

*Where do we pre-purchase the photopass?
*Do they send it to us or do we pick it up when we check in?
*Does it come w/ the CD or is the CD extra?
*Is the 30 day time frame only if you want to "edit" the photos w/ borders and such or after 30 days are all of your pics just gone?
*Is there still a Photpass Op at the resort when you check in or is that seperate priced?
*Do DVCers get a discount?

Thx!

The photopass card is free, but all it allows you to do is view the images on-line. If you want to have a CD with all of your pictures, you can purchase at www.disneyphotopass.com

Photopass cards are handed out by the Disney photographers. Once you have a card you log onto the website and add the card to your account.

Last I checked the CD was $125 but there is a discount if you buy it before your trip.

After 30 days they are gone forever.

Some of the resorts have portrait packages which can be added to your PhotoPass card. There is an additional fee for that. You can call (407) 934-4004 for additional information or to schedule a sitting. When first introduced the portrait sittings were fairly reasonable. But the prices went up dramatically last fall. IIRC it was nearly $200.

*Do DVCers get a discount?

Not that I am aware of.

Thx both of you! The site is great for loads of info I see- Also, I appreciate the answers tj- I guess I am mixed up in the Photopass Cd then- I didn't know it was free- Thought in order to get the pictures you had to purchase...

I am checking the site out a bit more- Thx Tink

Okay, I have checked out both & still some questions not answered...

>Am I paying $100+ for a CD w/ all of my photo's taken by photog's on our vacation or am I paying that to be able to edit my photo's online and then still have to purchase the ones I want?

>I saw something about only being able to pre-purchase if invited only by Disney Travel Company... (?) info please...

>When do you get your CD? After coming home, checking for all photo's and then ... what do you do order it then or is it automatically sent because you pre-purchased...?

>Basically, Am I paying $100+ for a CD of our pics and then if I want to add borders etc I have to pay additional or not?

>If the website is down and you can't access your pics to edit what do they do- Give you extra time? 30 days from day that you get first photopass pic taken or 30 days from day you log on to claim pics...?

>One person says they only got pics done by one photopass person due to never seeing any- in the case of only having a few pics... is that normal?

>It says pics taken with my own camera can be uploaded to the site but not added to CD- why would I upload to site if after 30 days they disappear?

>*** Can I just have my CD sent and print the pics myself? Add them to My Pictures on my computer? Use them as I want, etc?

Thx again...

Having the photos taken is free. Viewing the photos on-line is free. Sharing the with friends on-line is free. Editing the photos is free.

If you want prints, you have to pay for them.

If you want the photos to print yourself, you need to buy the CD.

Try doing a google search to see if there are any advance purchase offers available now. I know we did it about a year ago, but they may not be allowing it anymore.

If you advance purchase the CD, it will be mailed to you. You can also buy the CD while at Walt Disney World. But if you buy the CD there, your editing capabilities may be limited to kiosks they have at the point of purchase. In my opinion, it's much easier to edit the photos from your home computer and have the CD mailed a few days later.

I'm sure the website is not subject to frequent outages. You will get reminders when your photos are about to expire, and I wouldn't recommend ignoring those warnings. When the photos are gone....they are gone.

I don't know how anyone could miss the PhotoPass photographers. All of the Disney photogs have them now. That includes the folks at the park entries and other iconic locations, character meet-and-greets and even the waterparks. We usually end up with over 100 photos in our PP account in a typical trip. You DO have to make an effort to stop and get your photo taken because obviously they won't force you. But I've never found them particularly hard to find.

In addition to this, some of the ride photos can be added to your photo pass card.

I think Test Track at Epcot is the only one to have this facility at the moment. You can have pictures taken at meals like CRT added to your photopass if you purchase the pictures. We did this and it was quite handy as they took several pictures but they chose the one to print!! Now we have all on our Dec 08 photopass!!
