Photopass Superthread!

Oh wow! Glad I "renewed" my PAP & got the Signature AP. We were trying to decide if I should get the deluxe or signature, and decided that the signature was better for the PP option.

It seems that the Photopass+ package is now completely discontinued so I have updated the original posts to reflect this. Hoping they bring in a new package but am concerned it will be much more expensive (like the WDW one).

Oh no!

I was afraid that's where this was headed. BOO.

I believe the date the pictures were taken on the PP card has to be within the dates that your AP was activated.
So if you visited on November 21st with a regular admission
Then you purchase the Signature AP on December 8th, I do not believe you would be able to load those pictures to your pass.
I haven't tested this though. I would also venture to guess that they would only load pictures from the parks on the days your AP is scanned at the park to keep people from getting friends' pictures for free on dates that the AP'er isn't in the parks. Again, I haven't tested this, but with the other measures Disney has put in place (i.e. putting you picture on your park ticket) I imagine that they've set up something to block this from happening.

My brother went to WDW in November. We were there last week, and activated our Annual Passes then. I can now download the pictures from his November trip since our accounts are linked, even though my pass (and the related free PP) wasn't active at the time of his trip.

When I was there this week, one of the photopass photographers joked that I was holding a rare magic ticket of sorts when I pulled out my PP+ card. He said they weren't being sold anymore.

Do we think the park will have less photopass photographers now?

An interesting thing I noticed: Before Christmas, there were photopass photographers everywhere, with EVERY character, and tons around the castle - probably because of the increase in people wanting photos for Christmas cards. After the new year, I saw almost no photographers with characters (except the princesses in Fantasy Faire and Tink), and fewer photographers over all. It was more like it had been during other slow seasons, even though the parks were still packed. I suspect they'll be going back to fewer photopass photographers in general again, except for special events and holidays.

I think Disney would be very careful pricing any new Photopass program for DL close to WDW prices. For one, WDW's cost covers all 4 parks and far more character meets. Also, just last month they lowered the price by $30 after raising it earlier. It's obvious they know people are willing to pay X but scoffed at Y and adjusted accordingly. I'm hoping they have something in place though because we are a family that enjoys taking advantage of Photopass and August will be our first trip to DL.

We have a while before our trip and hopefully they will have something in place. Any chance they can add the ride videos like they do at WDW?

Would you mind sharing how you did this? It would be so much easier than 1 at a time! :) Thanks!

It is actually really simple (I felt silly when I figured it out, lol).
Just click each picture and up above it will tell you how many you have selected and the button to download.
One tip, I found when I selected ALL my pictures not all the zip files would open. So I ended up just selecting pictures for each day and downloading them that way.

Well, I sure hope that there are photopass photographers around the last weekend of January. That's when we'll be there and I purchased a photopass plus package online in November in preparation for the trip :( Guess, I have one of those "golden tickets" LOL

As in, I can no longer order it in the park on our upcoming July trip OR there is no option to pre-purchase but they will still sell it to me in the park at one of the photo places?

As in you cannot buy it period. Not pre-purchase and not once you are at the park.

What if you have one prepaid and haven't used it yet? We won't be there until july

People have reported back that they were able to use their pre-paid PPP once they arrived - I don't think there has been a cut off date announced as to when they will no longer be accepted.

Yes. Photopass plus is no longer available - pre order or in the parks. Confirmed that this weekend. Had to upgrade my pass to Signature.
