Photopass Superthread!

You do not add them one by one, you just go in to order the CD and then enter your code from the certificate (which I believe was inside your CD case when you ordered/purchased) and that code is what will get you the CD (or download option) at no extra cost. Look at page 1 of this SuperThread for more detailed instructions including a picture of the sheet with the code you will need.

Thank you!!! I looked at page one first but I wasn't sure if that was still current information or not :-) like I said it's been a few years and I wasn't sure if things had change. Thanks so much for your help!!!!

Just another update...my Premier AP has now expired () and I no longer have access to the Annual Passholder portion of the Disneyland.com website. So it also means, no access to the Photopass photos (even though the photos technically expire next year - October 2016). I don't know if they're still there (i.e., if I were to purchase another Signature/Signature Plus/Premier AP would they re-appear in my account or not). So if you have an Premier AP that is about to expire, make sure you download all of your Photopass Photos before your AP expires.

Very good to know. Have you contacted them to see if there is a workaround to allow you access to the downloads? Wonder if they thought of that.

I haven't contacted them. I downloaded all of the photos before my AP expired because I had a feeling that might happen.

I have a Premium Pass set to expire in December.

We were there a few weekends ago and had some pictures taken and received photopass cards -- is there any way to add those pictures to my account?

My AP is linked to my Disney.com account, but when I click on the "Disney Photopass for Annual Passholders" there is nothing there and no place for me to enter the photopass codes. Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks!

From what I understand, only the Signature, Signature Plus, and Premier AP include PP at this point.

So do im a littl confused. This says photos of character meals but the back of my photopass+ shows its only valid at premium character meals... Is that right??

Also weve been in the park 2 days and not found one photographer that does "magic shots " in either park.
Is there specific places to look??

I think it has to do with whether or not there are PP photographers at the meal. Not all of the character meals have PP photographers present (e.g., Storytellers does not). I know that there are photo packages (and hence a PP photographer) at Surf's Up (PCH Grill), Ariel's Grotto Princess Celebration, Goofy's Kitchen, and Minnie Breakfast.

I was there about two weeks ago and we found magic shots by asking every photographer we stopped at. We found Zero (Mickey Pumpkin in Town Square), Mickey Balloons (Castle), and Flo (Carsland).

Whenever we've done it, we found that the "roaming" photographers tend to do magic shots, not the stationary ones.
For example, there is a photographer in front of the castle with a tripod camera....they won't do them. But another photographer near there with the camera around their neck, they DO.

In Cars Land, the photographers with the tripods in stationary spots don't do them...but if you can find the "wandering" photographer, they do tons of them.
We got Flo, Lizzy, a pic with Mater riding in the helicopter behind us, etc. She took us all over Cars Land and did tons of shots!
We got balloons at the spot next to GRR across from Cars Land.
In DL, we got Olaf, Tink, Pasqual, etc...all at or near the front of the castle.

Hope that helps!

So premium AP does not have the photo pass? Mine does not expire until march 2016.

I am new to this photo pass thing. I have had them taken when we saw the princesses an stuff like that, but did not know about the borders and all the other ways to use it!

What are Magic Shots?

I am sorry if this has been asked, but I didn't see it.

We had some photos taken at the beginning of the month in front of the large Mickey Pumpkin. I have seen other photos at this same location with the Halloween border but when I log into the account (on multiple different days) there is never the option of a border on these particular photos. Does anyone know why this is??? It's the classic spot to add a Halloween border! Are they just super inconsistent?

At best guess: the photographer forgot to activate something. I am missing the borders for a certain set of castle shots too, and funny enough for one of the three Villains from the Halloween party.

Unfortunately, Photopass is not included with the Premium AP. It's only included with the Signature, Signature Plus, and Premier APs (the Premier AP is the one that is good at both WDW and DLR).

Magic Shots are where the PP photographer can add a character to your photo. Basically, you take the photo like normal, but the photographer will ask you to do something and then in the finished photo a character will appear. For example, when they add Flo to your photo, they'll ask you to look at the empty ground to your side. When you view the photo, Flo has been added in the blank space you were looking at. This website (http://capturingmagic.me/photopass-magic-shots) will give you a sense of Magic Shots (note that it's mostly focused on WDW and not all shots are always available).

I would recommend emailing the PP Support folks and see if they can activate the borders for you. I had a problem last year with border options appearing & disappearing over several days time, but your issue sounds more localized to the one location.

What does surfs up have? Is it better than goofys? My photopass doesnt list them. Do they always have photographers?

Surf's up has had a photographer the two times we've gone.
I prefer Surf's Up - the character interaction (which is why you're doing a character meal, right?) is far superior. They break every 30 minutes to go up to the front of the room to dance with the kids. The characters also sometimes got to our table multiple times.
People say the food is better at Goofy's, but I'm there for my kids to play and interact with the characters, and we get to eat in-between visits.

There's always a photographer at Surf's Up and Goofy's. They only take photos of your party at the entrance, so you'll need to take your own photos of the characters that come up to your table.

Surf's Up is the only character meal with Mickey. You take a photo with him before you're seated. Later on, they come by trying to sell you the photo packet. If you have PP+, they'll load the photo to your account AND give you the photo packet. The photo packet we received had 2 large prints and 2 small prints. I've been there twice, and each time have seen Minnie, Stitch, Daisy, & Pluto. Pretty sure it's a fixed set of characters.

Goofy's used to have a random assortment of characters, including princesses, but not anymore. In the past we'd seen Snow White and as we were leaving we saw Aurora (this was 3 yrs ago). Now, you take a photo with Goofy before being seated, then the other characters come: Minnie, Chip & Dale, and Pluto. The photo package for Goofy's includes one large print and 4 small ones. So, if you get PP+, you'll get those and they'll load the photos to the account.

Oddly, we've never been to Ariel's for a character meal-only did a WOC dinner package. I say odd, because DD loves to meet princesses. Haven't done Minnie's breakfast either--but I think it's because we really don't like to sacrifice valuable morning park time. We do the hotel character meals on our checkout day.

As for food, I've never been to Goofy's for breakfast--we've always gone for dinner. Surf's Up and Storytellers have characters only at breakfast. I think I like Storytellers over Surf's Up for food, but my DS has a thing for Stitch (& we had a great interaction with Stitch the 2 times we've gone.

We received our PP+ on time! So excited. Just to clarify we only have to bring the voucher right?

Yes, just to voucher that is taped on the outside. I took a picture of it and emailed it to my husband in case it got lost on our travels. Keep the inside one for when you are ready to download/ get a CD of your pics. I took a pic of it to save. Have a fun trip and get lots of pics taken!
